The Faithful Men was started in 1993 when Pam Gildrie was the part time music director of Fairview United Methodist Church. Chuck Gildrie had the idea of an all men's choir because of all the talented men in the choir. They began with about 12 men and mostly sang in church. There first singing event outside of the church was at the Foothills Mall singing Christmas carols. In 1994 Pam contracted br

east cancer which caused her to retire as the part time music director of Fairview. The church as grown to the point of needing a full time music director. Fairview was blessed that Wesley Rouse was hired and changed the choir and the Faithful Men for the better. In 1999, Wesley and Chuck talked about the group going on a mission trip but were unsure of where to go. Gary Fowler heard the Faithful Men were praying and trying to decide where to go and he presented the idea of Latvia. The church already had a relationship with the Second Methodist Church of Riga, the capital city. After much prayer and research of Latvia, it was agreed the Faithful Men would embark on this mission.
