Good Friday!
It's really hard to refer to today as Good Friday when we know how Jesus suffered for us. This is the darkest and most difficult day of the Holy week, yet it holds the entire heart of the gospel. After being betrayed by Judas and willingly going with those who sought to arrest him, Jesus was beaten, mocked, and nailed to a cross. He endured a cruel and excruciating death, all for our redemption.
So as we reflect on Jesus' crucifixion today, let's look deep into our souls. How appreciative are we to God for sending His son to die, the way He did, for us?
When Jesus said "It is finished" (John 19:30) which can be translated as "Paid in full", He ended the complex sacrificial system. Some folks don't realize the extent of how good this was for us!
When Jesus died for us and Rose 3 days later, He did not just go to heaven and return. He was busy defeating satan and death. Because of all He did in those 3 days, we don't have to wait 3 days or defeat anything for our resurrection in Christ! (Our Salvation) He has done it ALL!
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
John 3:16-17 NKJV
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
Isaiah 53:5 NKJV
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
Ephesians 2:4-8 NKJV
Love y'all,
Be Blessed!!
