Today on Flag Day, we pause to reflect with gratitude on the freedoms we have been given and the many sacrifices made by those who have served and protected this nation throughout generations. Freedom is something we should never treat casually, and as believers, we recognize the gift it is to gather openly, worship freely, preach the Gospel boldly, and serve our communities in the name of Jesus.
Scripture reminds us in Psalm 33:12 (ESV),
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!”
While we honor our nation today, we are also reminded that our greatest hope is not found in governments or systems, but in Christ alone. Because of Him, we are called to pray for our nation, love our neighbors well, walk in integrity, and be people who carry light, peace, truth, and hope wherever we go.
As a church family, we are thankful for every person who has served, every family who has sacrificed, and every opportunity we have to continue making an impact right here in our community.
