We are a Mission (baby church) of the Orthodox Church in America, now located in Marysville and known as St. We are an Orthodox Church under the episcopacy of His Eminence Benjamin of the Orthodox Church in America (Diocese of the West). We gather to pray every Saturday @6:30pm at 506 Fifth Street in Marysville, California. Currently under the covid-19 rubrics, well wear masks, take our temperatur

When I first saw the Holy Transfiguration icon, I wondered at the choice of black as the color illustrating the “Uncreated Light” that surrounded Christ. Our priest at St Silouan Orthodox Church, Fr Andrew, gave me an excellent explanation at the time, and to prove the accuracy of his explanation, the NASA image of yesterday’s eclipse knocked my socks off.

Holy Doors Part 2

The doors are structurally complete now with a completed gap molding, scrollwork added to “present” the icons, and sanding finished.

Will be applying tung oil soon and working on a wooden latch mechanism because it will be quieter in operation than metal latches.

Icons from Teshin Iconographics are in process as this is posted.

The top of each door will have a round Annunciation icon. Placement can be seen by a faint pencil outline.
