We spend a lot of time asking, “Who am I?”

This Sunday, we’ll consider another question:

Whose am I?

Rev. Scott Nowack brings a message titled “Remembering Whose You Are,” reflecting on Exodus 12:1–14 and Romans 13:8–14.

The Passover gave God’s people something they were commanded to remember from generation to generation. Paul later calls believers to live differently because of who they now belong to—to “put on the Lord Jesus Christ” and walk in the light.

Scripture: Exodus 12:1–14; Romans 13:8–14 (NRSVUE)
Anthem: “Bless This House” — Senior Choir
Speaker: Rev. Scott Nowack
Worship at 10:30 AM (Coffee Fellowship at 9:00 AM)

Join us as we remember the God to whom we belong—and consider how that identity shapes the way we live.

Sometimes we look at what God is calling us to do and immediately think about everything we don’t have.

This Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, Rev. Scott Nowack brings a message titled “What’s in Your Hand?”, reflecting on Exodus 3:1–15 and Matthew 16:21–28.

When Moses questions whether he is capable of the work God is calling him to do, God answers with a promise: “I will be with you.” Jesus likewise calls his followers not simply to believe, but to take up their cross and follow.

Scripture: Exodus 3:1–15; Matthew 16:21–28 (NRSVUE)
Special Music: “Blessings” — Molly Barker
Speaker: Rev. Scott Nowack
Worship at 10:30 AM (Coffee Fellowship at 9:00 AM)

Join us as we consider what God may already have placed in our hands — and what might happen when we are willing to use it.

Some moments pass quietly.

Others ask something of us.

This Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, Rev. Scott Nowack brings a message titled “Seize Your Divine Moment,” reflecting on Psalm 138 and Matthew 16:13–20.

Jesus asks his disciples a deeply personal question: “Who do you say that I am?” Peter recognizes the moment and responds with faith — a response that becomes part of the foundation for what comes next.

Scripture: Psalm 138; Matthew 16:13–20 (NRSVUE)
Speaker: Rev. Scott Nowack
Special Music: “Thy Word” — Amanda Conti, Emily Mathys, D’Anna Nowack, Laura Perkins
Worship at 10:30 AM (Coffee Fellowship at 9:00 AM)

Join us as we consider how to recognize the moments God places before us — and how faith gives us the courage to seize them.

Some walls are easy to see.

Others are built from hurt, resentment, fear, rejection, or years of separation.

This Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, Rev. Scott Nowack brings a message titled “Tear Down This Wall!”, reflecting on Genesis 45:1–15 and Ephesians 2:14–18.

Joseph comes face-to-face with the brothers who betrayed him, but instead of allowing the past to define their future, he opens the door to reconciliation. Ephesians reminds us that Christ is our peace—the One who breaks down the barriers of hostility that divide us.

Scripture: Genesis 45:1–15; Ephesians 2:14–18 (NRSVUE)
Special Music: “Abide With Me” — Candy & Sophia Brown
Speaker: Rev. Scott Nowack
Worship at 10:30 AM (Coffee Fellowship at 9:00 AM)

Join us as we consider what God can do when the walls between us begin to fall.

What happens when the path God has for us seems to go completely off course?

This Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, Rev. Scott Nowack brings a message titled “When God’s Plan Goes Through the Pit,” reflecting on Psalm 105:1–6, 16–22, 45b and Genesis 37:1–4, 12–28.

There are seasons when circumstances leave us discouraged, confused, betrayed, or wondering how anything good could possibly come next. Yet our worship this week reminds us that God is still present in those places—and that the difficult part of the journey does not necessarily mean God’s purpose has disappeared.

Scripture: Psalm 105:1–6, 16–22, 45b; Genesis 37:1–4, 12–28 (NRSVUE)
Speaker: Rev. Scott Nowack
Worship at 10:30 AM (Coffee Fellowship at 9:00 AM)

Join us as we consider how faith carries us forward when God’s plan seems to lead straight through the pit.
