BAPTISM SUNDAY 💧
The man in Acts 8 was reading the Scriptures, but he couldn’t understand what he was reading.
Think about that for a moment.
He had access to the truth.
He was searching.
He was sincere.
But sincerity alone wasn’t enough.
Then Philip came alongside him and showed him how all of Scripture points to Jesus.
In that moment, something changed.
Not because he received more information.
Because he received revelation.
Many people today are still stuck in the same place.
They’ve heard sermons.
They’ve read verses.
They’ve had conversations about God.
Yet information alone has never changed a life.
There comes a moment when the Holy Spirit opens our eyes and what was once words on a page becomes truth in our hearts.
📖 “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers…” — 2 Corinthians 4:4
When that revelation comes, it produces something.
Faith.
📖 “Faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.” — Romans 10:17
And faith always demands a response.
That’s why the Ethiopian immediately asked:
📖 “Look, here’s water! What is stopping me from being baptized?” — Acts 8:36
Notice he didn’t ask for another sermon.
He didn’t ask for more evidence.
He didn’t ask for more time.
Once he saw Jesus clearly, he knew the next step.
Maybe the thing holding you back isn’t a lack of evidence.
Maybe it’s your unwillingness to respond to what God is already showing you.
The Holy Spirit reveals.
Faith is produced.
Then comes the call.
The question isn’t whether God is speaking.
The question is:
What’s stopping you?
