MY FAREWELL ANNOUNCEMENT: Family, friends, church members, and members of the clergy, greetings.
Effective November 17, 2020, I will delete all of my social media accounts to include Facebook messenger. That means my account will be gone within 30-60 days unless I log back on after the 17 of November 2020. Anyway, the reasons for deleting my social media imprint outweigh the reasons to maintain a social presence.
It has been a fun, adventurous , trying, and informative time both personally and professionally.
I explored the novel idea of communicating with friends both past and new, while maintaining contact with my personal family and church members or colleagues. It was novel because most people of my position in the church do not directly communicate with the public. They have an assistant or liaison person responsible for daily communication or interaction with the public. Believe me many have cautioned me over the years for making myself to available. They believed that personal dialogue would breed familiarity that would further lead to unwanted exposure. Well, in some cases they are correct. But for me, they are wrong for two very important points.
A quality life is based upon developing relationships. From strong relationships one is able to share ideas and concepts, clear up misunderstandings, and to help people in their time of need, once THEY KNOW YOU CARE ABOUT THEM.
The second reason they are wrong is because through the sharing of ideas people grow. Surely, each of you has helped me to become a better person. Thank you.
I remember back in 2008, I had over 5,000 Facebook friends in an effort to reach more people by cultivating new relationships and also to expand the reach of the Church. However, in 2015, I started scaling back the people in my lists for various reasons. The main reasons were a lack of genuine contact, bullying, dogma religion at the expense of purposeful human development, spiritual arrogance, and a selfish projection of ethics and morals that did not stand the test of time and history.
Therefore, I kept my friends under 500 for over five years. Even still, 90% of my current friends are my real world friends. And the remaining 10% are true friends as well eventhough we have not met in person. I salute you for being the best part of me and supporting my family through our darkest hours.
A list of acknowledgments is too long to list here. And an omission of a person’s name would be a grave error. You know what you mean and have meant to me. Thank you.
If you desire to contact or chat with me for any reason, please copy or record my vitals:
email me at: [email protected]
By cell phone/text or What’s App: 1.301.379.5929
Either way, to include leaving a voice mail if I am not available, I will respond.
If you care to leave me your contact info, please send me a private Facebook message. This way, I will be able to add your information before my account is deleted.
Hopefully, this early notification provides everyone time to share vitals and know why I have decided to curb my social media imprint.
Some things to remember:
The greatest honor in life is in the service of others without expectation of gain or profit.
Never envy a person who has prospered.
Love God with all of your heart, mind and soul.
Love and do unto your neighbor as you would want to be treated.
Faith without work is dead (useless)
Forgive to protect your heart from being consumed by the diseases of the flesh: envy, hate, depression, etc...
LOVE...
Never Quit...
Don’t sit back and allow others to steal your voice. Your voice needs to be heard.
Don’t be so blinded by religion that you lose sight of God and your relationship with each other.
Be accountable...
