๐ DAY 1 โ THE SUITCASE NOBODY CLAIMED
Ethan almost walked past it.
The airport in Johannesburg was unusually quiet for a Monday morning. Most passengers had already collected their luggage and disappeared into the city. The conveyor belt had stopped moving nearly twenty minutes earlier, yet one black suitcase remained alone, unclaimed, and seemingly forgotten.
A security officer approached the waiting area and asked if the suitcase belonged to anyone nearby. No one responded. Travelers glanced at it briefly before continuing on their way. The silent assumption seemed universal: not my problem, not my responsibility, not my concern.
Ethan watched from a distance. What troubled him was not the suitcase itself but the reaction it produced. Everyone assumed someone else would deal with it. Everyone expected another person to care. Everyone believed responsibility belonged elsewhere.
Several hours later, airport staff located the owner. An elderly traveler had accidentally exited through another terminal and had spent the morning desperately searching for his luggage. Inside the suitcase were medications he depended upon every day. Without them, his health was at serious risk.
Suddenly, what had appeared insignificant to everyone else became deeply important.
As Ethan boarded his flight later that day, he could not stop thinking about what he had witnessed. How many opportunities are missed because nobody takes ownership? How many needs remain unmet because everyone assumes someone else will respond? How many callings remain untouched because responsibility feels inconvenient?
Then another thought surfaced.
God often entrusts ordinary things before He entrusts extraordinary things. A conversation, a friendship, a prayer, a responsibility, a disciple, or a simple act of obedience may appear small, yet these are often the places where stewardship begins. Leadership is rarely born in public moments. It is usually formed in private faithfulness. Influence is not where the journey starts; responsibility is.
Looking out through the airplane window, Ethan realized something he had never considered before. Many of lifeโs greatest opportunities arrive disguised as responsibilities. Perhaps God was asking him the same question He asks every disciple sooner or later:
โWhat have I placed in your hands that you are overlooking?โ

ABOUT THIS BOOK

The 366-Day Disciple-Making Journey
See Like an Eagle. Lead Like a Lion. Serve Like Christ.
โGo therefore and make disciples of all nationsโฆโ
โ Matthew 28:19โ20
Welcome to a journey that was never intended to remain on the pages of a book.
This book was born from a simple conviction: discipleship is not information transferโit is life transformation. Around the world, millions of believers attend services, listen to sermons, read books, and consume endless content, yet many still struggle to experience the depth, joy, purpose, and multiplication that marked the lives of Jesusโ first followers. Knowledge alone has never changed a life. Truth applied through obedience does.
The 366DaysDBS journey was created to help believers move beyond inspiration into transformation. It is designed for ordinary people who desire to walk closely with God, hear His voice through Scripture, obey what He says, and help others do the same. Whether you are a new believer, a church leader, a missionary, a business professional, a student, or someone simply seeking a deeper walk with Christ, this journey was written with you in mind.
Every day, you will encounter a story. Some stories will inspire you. Others will challenge you. Some may feel uncomfortably familiar. You will meet people from different nations, cultures, professions, generations, and walks of life. Their journeys are not merely stories to read; they are mirrors that help us examine our own hearts. Through their victories, failures, questions, and discoveries, we are invited to see ourselves and, more importantly, to see God at work in ways we may never have noticed before.
At the heart of this journey are three powerful pictures that shape the life of a disciple.
The first is the Eagle. The eagle represents vision. It sees what others miss. It rises above distractions and gains perspective. A disciple must learn to see life, people, circumstances, and opportunities through Godโs eyes rather than through fear, emotion, or human limitation.
The second is the Lion. The lion represents courage, conviction, and leadership. The Lion of the Tribe of Judah is Jesus Christ Himself. As disciples, we are called to develop His heart and His mind. We are not called to dominate people but to stand firm in truth, take responsibility for our actions, and lead others toward God with courage and faith.
The third is the Servant. Jesus declared that greatness in His Kingdom is found not in position but in service. A disciple who sees like an eagle and leads like a lion must also serve like Christ. Service is where love becomes visible. It is where faith becomes practical. It is where multiplication becomes possible.
Together, these three qualities create a disciple who is spiritually grounded, emotionally mature, mission-focused, and prepared to influence others for the Kingdom of God.
This journey follows the same simple pattern used by disciple-making movements around the world. Every day you will read Scripture, reflect on key discovery questions, listen for Godโs voice, identify practical steps of obedience, engage in prayer, and share what you have learned with someone else. The goal is not merely to finish another devotional. The goal is to become the kind of person who naturally makes disciples wherever God places you.
Throughout these pages, you will be challenged to see beyond yourself. You will pray for nations, families, communities, churches, workplaces, and future generations. You will learn that discipleship is not confined to church buildings. It belongs in homes, offices, classrooms, coffee shops, boardrooms, farms, campuses, and neighborhoods. Wherever people live, disciples can be made.
This book is also part of a larger movement. The vision is simple yet profound: to see disciples who make disciples, leaders who develop leaders, groups that multiply into new groups, and movements that reach nations. Every act of obedience matters. Every conversation matters. Every person matters. Great movements often begin with a single individual who simply chooses to say yes to God.
As you begin this journey, do not rush. Read slowly. Reflect deeply. Listen carefully. Allow the Holy Spirit to speak. Write down what God shows you. Obey what He asks you to do. Share what you learn with others. Small acts of obedience, repeated consistently over time, produce extraordinary transformation.
By the end of these 366 days, our prayer is not simply that you will know more Scripture. Our prayer is that you will know God more intimately, walk more closely with Christ, serve others more faithfully, influence people more intentionally, and become a disciple-maker who helps fulfill the Great Commission.
The journey begins now.
See Like an Eagle.
Lead Like a Lion.
Serve Like Christ.
And may God use your life to touch nations.
Welcome to 366DaysDBS.
Welcome to the movement.
