Have you heard of our Bible Verse Mapping Class? Have you wondered what it was all about?

Understanding Scripture — Living God’s Word Every Day

Understanding Sacred Scripture and how it applies to our daily lives can sometimes be difficult. The language used in the Bible can at times sound harsh, be difficult to understand, or even feel as though it does not apply to the world we are living in today.

Bible Verse Mapping gives us an opportunity to slow down and really explore God’s Word. Together, we look more closely at Scripture—examining the words, their meaning and context, and what God may be revealing to us through them. Most importantly, we discover how Sacred Scripture continues to speak to us and can be applied to the joys, struggles, decisions, and circumstances of our everyday lives.
Each topic we explore is 10 weeks in duration, giving us plenty of time for prayer, reflection, learning, and wonderful discussion.

Our Next Session is "Comfort for an Anxious Heart"
This new 10-week session will begin Wednesday, September 23rd, 6:30–7:30 PM in the Church Library (in the Office Building.)

We intentionally finish our class early enough that those who feel called may also spend some quiet time with Jesus in Eucharistic Adoration afterward.

Whether you have studied Scripture for years or have always wanted to understand the Bible a little better, you are welcome to join us! You do not need to be a Scripture expert—simply come with an open heart and a desire to learn more about God’s Word.

If you are interested in joining us, please contact Melody Grogan at [email protected] so that all of the materials can be prepared for you before your first class.

We would love to welcome some new faces to our group! Come join us for prayer, fellowship, and meaningful discussions as we continue learning how God speaks to us through Sacred Scripture and how His Word can guide us in our daily lives.

We look forward to seeing you!

Hey parents of teens! It's Youth Ministry Fall Kickoff this Sunday Night! We will have games and a Pizza Party beginning at 5pm in the Church Office Building, Sunday August 30. We ask that you come in and have a short informational meeting with Rochelle. Then come back to pick up your teen at 7pm. This is for all Middle and High Schoolers. We can't wait to welcome you back this Fall! Please email Rochelle and let us know you'll be there at [email protected]

Reminder: we have on-going remodeling in the Family Life Center. This is why we are having all meetings in the Church Office Building/Classrooms. Also during Masses, you can access bathrooms via a quick walk over to the Office Building. Follow the signs and notice changes! Thank you for your patience and prayers during this time! We are excited about the upgrades and hope you will be as well! It would not be possible without your generosity!

One extra note: be on the look-out for something else new in the parking lot, as you drive in. Pictures coming!

Last night Dr Tom Neal gave a moving talk and then we enjoyed an hour of Adoration with our Lord. If you missed it, you are still invited to join us this morning 9am-12pm in the church for this mission retreat. Also please note confessions will be in the Church Office building this morning only beginning at 8;30am. Follow the signs. Thank you and have a blessed day!

Please excuse this social media coordinator's tardiness 🥹 But we want to make sure you know about this exciting event this weekend! You may have heard Father mention it. You may have read it in the bulletin. You may have seen it on the website. And you may have read it in your Flocknote newsletter. (We hope all of the above!) But please remember to sign up and let us know you're coming! Scan the QR Code and sign your name! That's it.

We are excited to once again host Dr. Tom Neal, as he shares with us that "Stewardship is a Calling." We will begin Friday evening at 6:30pm until 8:30pm, and meet again Saturday morning, 9am-12pm. Sadly, we cannot use our beloved Family Life Center due to the remodel, and therefore, we cannot share a large meal together this time. Please plan accordingly!

In case you missed the announcement, tomorrow is the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is not a Holy Day of Obligation, but an important one none the less. We will have a special vigil Mass tonight at 6:30pm. Please join us. This Feast day commemorates the end of Mary's earthly life, when we believe her body and soul was assumed (taken up) into heaven. This was always a belief (Tradition) of the Church, but not formally declared dogma until November 1, 1950 by Pope Pius XII. Many countries celebrate around the world with festivals and outdoor processions with statues of Mary. Other cultures pray especially for blessings on crops, herbs and flowers. How might you celebrate with your family? Perhaps start a new tradition (little t) in your own home. Ask for Mary's intercession, purchase a new statue in her honor, or plant a Mary garden.

For today, if you plan to attend our monthly Mass, Rosary and Breakfast group, please email Mary today! This month they will be going to The Breakfast Place, 789 Beal Pkwy NW, FWB. Due to the new Wednesday morning Adoration, follow the group to another building to pray the Rosary after Mass.

Next up, we have BUNCO Night, this Friday, August 7, at 6pm in Classroom 4 of the Church Office Building. We need at least 20 people to play, so invite your friends! Let us know you are coming, and bring a potluck snack to share, plus BYOB (bring your own alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage.)

REMINDER: The new schedule began on Aug. 1 Father Doug’s Day Off will be on Fridays (instead of Thursdays). There will no longer be Mass or Adoration on Fridays, except for First Friday Mass. THIS FRIDAY is our FIRST FRIDAY Mass at 8am. Adoration will take place on Wednesdays @8:30am-9:30am and @7-9pm.
The new Daily Mass schedule is: Monday-Thursday, First Friday, and First Saturday . The Office & Library Hours are still Monday-Thursday 8:30am-2:30pm.

Now! Save the date for our Fall Saint Peter Parish Mission! We are blessed to once again welcome Dr. Tom Neal as he talks about "Stewardship is a Calling." The mission will be Friday evening, August 21 and Saturday, August 22. More details coming soon!

And finally, please email Rochelle at [email protected] for details on Confirmation in the Restored Order, for all students in 3rd to 12th grades who have already received their First Communion. If you missed our first parent information session, we will have one Sunday, August 9 at 9:15am in Classroom 4 of the Church Office Building.
