On behalf of NICM, we thank all our readers for persistently praying as well as financially supporting NICM in its work of evangelism this Holiday season.
We want to remind everyone that these are trying times for Christian ministers, Churches, and Christians in general. Most of you might be familiar with pockets of persecution that erupted across the entire country this past year. Sadly, by no means have these difficulties subsided. We have an equally—if not more—challenging year up ahead for Christianity. Across our country, one state—and soon likely to be followed by others—has hardened its already stringent anti-conversion laws. Recently, the state of Uttarakhand implemented even stricter laws to indirectly curb the growth of Christianity by prohibiting various forms of evangelism, such as preaching—in Church or otherwise. Disturbingly, with the help of parliament legislation, the state enacted policies dedicated to ensuring that non-believers would neither have the freedom of opportunity to hear the Gospel nor be allowed to freely adopt Christianity without applying for permission for conversion from their local magistrate by submitting their intention of adopting Jesus in writing. These extreme measures are intended to make it difficult for non-Christians to adopt Christianity. Under the guise of maintaining secularism by promoting false misconceptions about Christians, anti-Christian extremists want to rid this country of the Christian message at the expense of both compromising the freedom of believers to practice their faith and non-believers to freely attend Church in order to seek Jesus as the ultimate Truth. To make matters worse, the burden of proof is shifted to Christians to prove that those adopting Christianity under their influence are not the result of conversions arising out of any undue influence, bribe, or manipulation. This land—like all of Earth—needs the saving and everlasting loving kindness of Jesus. Hence, we will continue to evangelize. Despite attempts by those intent on stopping the free dissemination of the Gospel, non-believers are daily arriving to hear news of Jesus and His saving grace.
