Grace Episcopal Church is a parish in the Diocese of California of The Episcopal Church. The Episcopal Church is a Protestant Christian denomination whi
ch is part of the global Anglican Communion. We are a democratic and hierarchical organization and consider clergy and lay people to be equally important to the work of the church, with each group attempting to find and fulfill our specific call to serve from God. Members of the Episcopal branch of the Jesus movement follow the way of Jesus Christ in both our worship and mission. Our form of worship has been described as a "via media" or "middle way" between Protestant and Roman Catholic doctrine, but a broad spectrum of theological views is represented within the Episcopal Church. Our primary worship text is the Book of Common Prayer (1979), supplemented with other resources. We are a "sacramental" church, honoring the importance of scripture, but emphasizing the primacy of community through the Holy Eucharist. In all that we do, we attempt to follow Jesus' commandment to fully love God and our neighbors.
