Today we continued our journey through Revelation 6 — “Things to Come.” We looked at the four horsemen and the powerful things John was shown about what is to come.

God’s Word reminds us that while we may not know everything about the future, God does—and He is still in control.

God’s Light
Scripture
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
— Psalm 119:105

Reflection
As we age, the path ahead may seem unclear. The future can feel uncertain, and we may wonder what lies ahead. But God’s Word is a light that guides us, no matter how dark the road may seem. Walking in God’s light means allowing His truth to direct our steps. His Word offers wisdom, guidance, and comfort, lighting the way even when we feel lost. it’s easy to feel like we’ve reached the end of our journey, but God’s light is still shining. He continues to lead us with His Word, showing us the next step and filling our hearts with peace. Walking in His light brings clarity and assurance, knowing that we are not alone on this journey.

Reflection
It’s easy to focus on what we’ve lost or what we can no longer do. But taking time to reflect on life’s blessings can shift our perspective. We have witnessed God’s goodness and faithfulness throughout our lives. Our families, our health, and even the simple joys of each day are gifts from God. Reflecting on these blessings helps us recognize God’s hand in our lives and brings gratitude to our hearts. Even in the midst of challenges, we can find reasons to give thanks. God’s love has been with us every step of the way. Reflecting on His goodness fills our hearts with peace and joy, reminding us that His blessings are abundant.

Reflection
Worry can consume us, especially as we age and face new challenges. Health issues, family concerns, and the unknowns of the future can make us anxious. But God invites us to release our worries to Him. He cares deeply for us and wants to carry our burdens. When we give our anxieties to God, we experience a sense of freedom and peace. This act of surrender allows us to trust that God is in control and that He will handle our concerns. Releasing our worries doesn’t mean ignoring them; it means trusting God to take care of them. Each day, we can choose to hand over our worries and rest in the assurance that God is faithful.

Comfort in God’s Promises
Scripture
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
— Psalm 34:18

Reflection
Life can bring pain and loss, But God’s promises offer comfort. He is near to those who are hurting and provides healing for the brokenhearted. When we feel crushed by the weight of life’s difficulties, God is there to lift us up. His Word is full of promises of hope, comfort, and restoration. God does not abandon us in our pain but walks with us through it. By holding on to His promises, we can find peace and strength to move forward. His promises remind us that no matter what we face, God is always with us, ready to offer comfort in our time of need.

Trusting in God’s Faithfulness

“The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does.”
— Psalm 145:13

Reflection
God’s faithfulness is a firm foundation in uncertain times. No matter what we face, we can rely on God to keep His promises. He has proven His faithfulness throughout history, and He continues to show it in our lives today. When we trust in God’s faithfulness, we know He will never leave us or forsake us. This trust gives us peace, even in the midst of challenges. Everyone may face health issues, loss, or loneliness, but God remains faithful. His promises are true, and His presence is with us. Trusting in God’s faithfulness allows us to face the future with confidence and hope, knowing He will provide for us in every season of life.
