The Problem With Love

C.W. Vanderbergh wrote: “To love the whole world for me is no chore. My only real problem is my neighbor next door.” It’s easier to talk about loving everyone than it is to love specific people we encounter on a regular basis. Those we associate with the most may often be the hardest to love. Those closest to us sometimes hurt us the most by their words and actions. We should remember that at times we may not be so lovable ourselves. Loving others takes effort, but God requires it and the results are well worth it.

Why Are We Here?

A cartoon showed a little boy sitting beside his father and mother at church. The little boy said to his father: “Mom wants to cook dinner, you want to play golf, I want to play football. Why are we here?” Why do we go to church? There is always something else to do. The Bible teaches us the importance of assembling together with other Christians for worship. The word church means assembly. When we gather for worship, we praise God and encourage each other to be better Christians. Take time for worship this Sunday.
