Parents, please take your children to church and let them hear all that they can about Jesus and his love for them.

Let them be freely taught about the greatness of God and the beauty of heaven and the reality of life here and hereafter.

Give them the benefit of caring teachers and leaders who aim to protect and inspire.

Allow them the security of a good community and a strong support system that churches build to help them know that they belong and that they matter.

Help them know about the value of life and goodness and prayers and faith and the comfort of the Holy Spirit. Allow them the opportunity to develop a spiritual life while they are tender.

The world will always try to undermine the teaching of the faithful. There are those who will counter with hate and confusion and unbelief.

Many others will seek only to secularize your children, and diminish their faith in God. They revere intellectualism and creativity above the beauty of holiness. They are committed to challenging true doctrine and attacking Godly values.

They care not for their souls.

Please consider your children's needs as you anticipate the hard and unfair situations they will face and realize that they will need something strong and solid to hold on to as they navigate great trials.

Please give your children a chance in life to find inner strength and a real moral compass. Please help them realize that they never have to go it alone, and that the presence of God is near.

I have attended funerals of young people, tragic loss of lives, cut down much too soon. The heartache and concern is overwhelming.

Please commit to helping and being a part of the solution. Serve the Lord with enthusiasm and gladness.

Many are perishing, but they need not, for Jesus offers hope and eternal life.

It has been a pleasure to serve our community with a God ordained food pantry for 31 years.

Today was no different.
We have been able to help local people with food.

We have been able to love our neighbor.

We are blessed to lend a helping hand to those in need and it is something special to see faces light up as they experience the love of Jesus.

We are thankful to be his servants. What a priviledge.

Jesus cares.
Jesus provides.
Jesus saves.✝️

THE GOODNESS OF GOD

"For the Lord is good
and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues
through all generations."
Psalms 100:5

No matter how things appear,
God is faithful and His goodness is still present in this generation.

His goodness will be poured out on the next generation and the next.

He graciously pours out a stedfast love.

To forget this causes us alarm and undue stress.

To remember this, gives us hope for our grandchildren.

TO ASSUME

We used to call this,
"jumping to conclusions."

It happens when we lack information.
We don't get the facts.
We judge by appearance.
We let our imagination run wild.

We misunderstood something or someone.
We overthink.
We make it personal.
We create a problem that wasn't even there.
We overreact.
We cause drama.

Can make ourself look stupid.
Can be toxic for our relationships.
Can be revealing of our heart and mind.
Can be based on our insecurities or prejudices.

Food for thought.

"Fools find no pleasure in understanding,
but delight in airing their own opinions."
Proverbs 18:2

Eternal life.
Everlasting peace.
It is real.
It is the what and where
we call heaven.

It is not a myth, a legend or an imaginary place. It is not a fancy idea used by Christians as an escape method from present realities of hardship and pain.

Heaven is a real place.
A forever place.
Jesus talked about it.
Jesus came from there.
And he gave us the instructions and the plan to get there as well.

"For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son,
whosoever believes in him,
should not perish,
but have everlasting (eternal) life."
John 3:16

""I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will sn**ch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. So no one can take them from me."
John 10:28-29

"This world is not our home; we are looking forward to our city in heaven, which is yet to come."
Hebrews 13:14

"Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits at God's right hand in the place of honor and power. Let heaven fill your thoughts. Do not think only about things down here on earth. For you died when Christ died, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your real life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory."
Colossians 3:1-4

"We are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. He will take these weak mortal bodies of ours and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same mighty power that he will use to conquer everything, everywhere."
Philippians 3:20-21

"The Lord will deliver me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly Kingdom. To God be the glory forever and ever. Amen."
2 Timothy 4:10

"If we have hope in Christ only for this life, we are the most miserable people in the world.
But the fact is that Christ has been raised from the dead. He has become the first of a great harvest of those who will be raised to life again."
1 Corinthians 15:19-20

There is more than what we have and see right now.
This is not all there is--
this is temporary.

In heaven--
There will be no sorrow there.
No tears.
No burdens to bear.

There will be reunions with loved ones in unlimited time and bliss.
And Jesus is there.
He is the King of heaven.
We shall see him face to face.
He is the one who saved us by his grace.

What a day that will be!

We have a keeper,
a protector &
a provider.

His name is Jesus.

Even when facing the darkest valleys.
Shadows of death.
Uncertainties.
Unpredictable situations.
Health issues.
Financial struggles.
Relationship heartaches.
Trouble, distress, unrest.
Our overwhelmed hearts can take heart.

And consolation.
His rod (authority) and
His staff (sufficiency)
comfort us.
Mercy manifests.

He is always here, with us, through every second, all the way through it,
leading each step of the way,

Driving away enemies.
Spreading out provisions.
Making us His priority.
Refreshing, renewing and restoring.
Our cups know abundance.

Because the Lord is our Shepherd
and we are in His sheltering care.

We can fear no evil.

He still plans for us still waters.

He gives us goodness every day.

It's all good.

Spiritual health is knowing our Shepherd and trusting him.

The struggle is over when we surrender to the loving leadership of Christ, our Shepherd.

Arrogance, willfulness, or stubbornness in negotiating our spiritual life on own terms leads to heartache, weariness, weakness, despair.

There is a peace that the world cannot give us when we listen to the gentle voice of our good shepherd and follow him.

God's sheep hear his voice and obey.
They won't listen to the voice of a stranger.

And the ultimate reward and destination that the Shepherd offers is eternal life. If he promises us that, then what else can compare? If he can give us eternal life, he can furnish everything else we need right now.

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand."
John 10:27-28

Only God can give us lasting joy.

Everything else is a cheap imitation.

The world competes, over promises, and leaves people grieving and disillusioned.

God's promises are real and trustworthy.

He delivers.

Joy can be ours everyday.

Because true joy is not found in things. True joy is found in loving relationships.

Jesus emphasized that we can find joy in loving people in our lives who love us.

John 15:10–12
Jesus told us:
“If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love,
just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.
These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. ‘This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.’”

The Apostle Paul summed it so beautifully.
What?

His perspective of what gives life meaning--what he felt is praiseworthy and fulfilling.

He listed the important things in life.

He said these three things endure and are lasting and trustworthy.

Faith, hope and love.

And then he narrowed it down to one dynamic thing.

Love.

The greatest of these is love.

Love never fails.
