The Knights was formed by Father Michael J. McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary’s Church in New Haven and some of his parishioners to render financial aid to members and their families. The Order offers Life Insurance to its members and is still true to its founding principles of charity, unity, and fraternity.

Today we celebrate the feast of Blessed Michael McGivney, humble parish priest and founder of the Knights of Columbus, who was beatified in 2020.

Known for his tireless service to his parishioners and his defense of the faith, he reminds us that holiness is found in the simple, faithful living of our daily vocations.

Please join us in praying for his canonization:

God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the widow and orphan, you called your priest, Blessed Michael McGivney, to be an apostle of Christian family life and to lead the young to the generous service of their neighbor. Through the example of his life and virtue, may we follow your Son, Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and building up his Body which is the Church. Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we may continue his work of caring for the needy and the outcast. We humbly ask that you glorify Blessed Michael McGivney on earth according to the design of your holy will. Through his intercession, grant the favor I now present (here make your request). Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Habemus Papam!

With great joy, we welcome Pope Leo XIV as the new Supreme Pontiff of the Catholic Church.

The Knights of Columbus unite in prayer for our Holy Father, asking the Lord to strengthen him as he shepherds the people of God with wisdom, compassion, and courage.

May Mary, Mother of the Church, intercede for Pope Leo XIV always.

Vivat Jesus!

The more than 2.1 million Knights of Columbus around the world join Catholics and people of all faiths today as we mourn the death of our Holy Father Pope Francis, the Bishop of Rome and spiritual leader of the Catholic Church. Pope Francis was a powerful witness to charity and fraternity, calling us from his first days as pope to reach out to the margins of society and serve those who are too often forgotten.

The Knights of Columbus is particularly grateful for its close relationship with our late Holy Father. Pope Francis continually encouraged our charitable mission and offered his blessing for our work, especially our humanitarian efforts around the world. Pope Francis was also very supportive of our efforts to help Catholic men be better husbands and fathers and take up co-responsibility for the Church’s mission of evangelization.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.

Happy Solemnity of St. Joseph!

🙏 Celebrating St. Joseph: Protector, Worker, and Model of Virtue 🙏

Today, we honor St. Joseph, the humble carpenter, devoted father, and faithful protector of the Holy Family. As patron of the Universal Church and inspiration for Catholic men, St. Joseph teaches us the power of silent strength, unwavering faith, and selfless service.

As Knights of Columbus, we look to St. Joseph as a model of fatherhood, leadership, and virtue. Like him, we are called to protect, provide, and guide our families and communities with love and courage.

We wish everyone a joyous and blessed Christmas!

🌟 Merry Christmas from the Knights of Columbus! 🌟

Today, we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ—the light of the world. As we gather with loved ones, let us remember the angel’s proclamation:

“For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Christ and Lord.” (Luke 2:11)

May the joy and peace of this holy day fill your hearts and homes. Together, let us share the love of Christ with a world in need.

It's the start of Advent, our time of preparation for Christmas! So why are we getting Gospel readings about Christ coming at the end of times?⁣

Because we mustn't forget: the little baby we celebrate on December 25 is the Lord of Life. And just as we get ready to celebrate his coming at Christmas, we need to prepare to meet Christ at the end of our lives and at the end of all time.⁣

Collaborative families, let's pray today and throughout Advent for the grace to more fully welcome Jesus into our lives.
