OUR CARES PROJECT FOR SEPTEMBER. During the month of September, we will be donating items to send to Ingathering. Mission Ingathering is a long tradition of United Methodist Churches putting together needed items for people experiencing natural disasters or extreme poverty. You can help any of four ways!
1. Make a complete kit: You will find an information sheet in the narthex which lists all of the items for each of the kits. All items must be brand new and in the exact sizes listed.
2. Purchase items for any of the kits: If you want to donate items, but do not wish to assemble a complete kit, you can bring whatever items you choose, as long as they are brand new and in the exact sizes listed.
3. Seamstresses and knitters: You who are talented with needles and thread can go to the Midwest Mission website for patterns. We need one-handled bags, baby diapers, baby blankets, baby sweaters, and other items. Follow the patterns exactly.
4. Donate money: Your monetary donations help pay for shipping, needed items, medical supplies, and many other things.

Ingathering helps people around the corner and across the globe. The items we send represent our love towards neighbors and Christ!

HELLO HOPE SONGBIRDS! The time is rapidly approaching to raise our voices together. If you love to sing, we want you to join us! Choir rehearsals officially begin Wednesday, September 2nd at 6:30 in the choir room. Bring some water and be ready to dive into the music. Our first anthem will be Sunday, September 13th.

Lord, May my thoughts align with Your thoughts. Help me to put on Your humility and compassion toward myself and others. I trust that if my mind remains on You, You will help me remain in perfect peace. Even when chaos surrounds me, I know You are close to me because Your Spirit lives within me. I choose today to set my mind on things above knowing that what I fixate on will influence the way I see myself, others, my circumstances. Today I choose to meditate on Your Word and trust that it is the best place for me to find comfort and rest. In Jesus' name, amen.

Last night, Hope UMC hosted our second annual "What Would Jesus Drive?" Car Show. It was a beautiful evening to share food, fellowship, cars, trucks, and bicycles! After the voting was tallied, Dave Sawyer's 1955 Black Ford Thunderbird Convertible took first place. We'd like to thank everyone who attended this event. It was a wonderful night.

Pastor Dani will continue her Sermon Series called "Both/And" . Clearcut categories are helpful. They make life easier to understand. But real people don’t fit neatly into boxes. We are full of tensions and paradoxes that – when embraced – can bring immense depth and beauty to life. Through this series, we will explore how faith in Christ calls us away from an “either/or” experience of the world and into the wonderful truth of “both/and.”

The sermon title this week will be "Saint & Sinner"" and will focus on scripture from 1 Timothy 1: 12-17.

We invite you to join our in person or live-streamed worship service at 9:30 AM or our online worship service. Our online service will be posted on this page with a link to YouTube each Sunday mid afternoon. All are welcome.
