Of all the beauty of Vienna, and trust me, it took my breath away, was a simple statue in a square of Emperor Leopold. Now, he was the grandfather of Maria Hamburg, Austria’s only female Emperor. What captivated me was the simple explanation by our guide of this and yet I thought it should be the most valued treasure of Austria. It shows how the “Emperors faith was stronger than the disease”—they escaped the black plague. Well done, good and faithful servant.

Good morning my St. Marks family. As we leave Prague and head to Budapest, my mind is on you. I wanted to share these words from my morning devotional and this beautiful moment captured in the countryside of Hungary. Ephesians 3:16-19
16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Mike and I went to the Emperors Castle and saw St. Viticas Cathedral. It was a massive complex. We enjoyed watching the changing of the Guard and got to be King and Queen for the day. Our day ended with an incredible dinner at our Hotel. Oh yeah…it is tradition to kiss under the Cherry Tree in the Emperors Garden for good luck…no harm in trying, right?!!

Hey Church Family! Mike and I finally made it to Prague and have enjoyed the beauty it has to offer. We are staying in a Hotel which is part of the oldest Monastery in Prague and follows the order of St. Augustine. It is so beautiful, quiet and tucked away in a corner of the old city. Last night and this morning we took walking tours around old city and crossed St. Charles’ bridge. I am sharing of few of the pictures for you to see. There are several statues on the bridge but they are copies of the original. The originals were taken down and hidden when communism came with Stalin.
We will see St. Nicholas Cathedral tomorrow and visit his tomb. So much rich history here and Freedom is something they value greatly and treasure.
