Friday, May 29, 2026 – The Holy Spirit Still Leads the Church

Read: John 14:16–17; Romans 8:14

Before His death and resurrection, Jesus promised that He would send the Holy Spirit to be with His people. The Spirit would guide them, strengthen them, and lead them in truth. That promise continues today.

The Church does not move forward through human wisdom alone. The Holy Spirit continues to guide believers, strengthen faith, convict hearts, and lead God’s people in the ways of Christ.

Because the Spirit is still at work, believers can move forward with hope and confidence, trusting that God continues to lead His Church.

Reflection Questions

· What does it mean to be led by the Holy Spirit?

· How does the Holy Spirit help believers live faithfully?

· Why can Christians face the future with hope?

Family Application: Talk about how helpful it is to have someone trustworthy guide us when we need direction.

Family Discussion Question: Why is guidance important when we do not know what to do?

Thursday, May 28, 2026 – Growing in Love and Understanding

Read: Philippians 1:9–10; James 1:5

Paul prayed that the love of the believers would “overflow more and more” and that they would continue growing in wisdom and understanding. Faithfulness is not about remaining spiritually unchanged. God desires His people to continue growing in grace and maturity.

As believers walk with Christ, the Holy Spirit continues shaping their hearts, teaching them what truly matters, and helping them reflect the character of Jesus more fully.

The Christian life is a continual journey of growth, learning, and transformation through the grace of God.

Reflection Questions

· What areas of your life is God continuing to shape and grow?

· Why is spiritual growth important for believers?

· How does wisdom help us live faithfully?

Family Application: Talk about ways people grow stronger through learning and practice.

Family Discussion Question: Why is it important to keep learning and growing?

Wednesday, May 27, 2026 – Held Together by Grace

Read: Philippians 1:7–8; Colossians 3:13–14

Paul speaks with deep affection for the believers in Philippi because they had shared together in the grace of God. Their relationship was more than friendship or organization. They were united through Christ.

The Church is held together not by personalities, preferences, or programs, but by the grace of Jesus Christ. Because believers have received mercy from God, they are called to extend that same grace to one another through patience, forgiveness, kindness, and love.

When grace shapes the life of the Church, unity grows stronger and the love of Christ becomes visible to the world.

Reflection Questions

· Why is grace essential for healthy Christian relationships?

· How does remembering God’s grace help us show grace to others?

· What does it mean for the Church to be united in Christ?

Family Application: Talk about ways family members can encourage and forgive one another.

Family Discussion Question: Why is kindness important in relationships?

Tuesday, May 26, 2026 – God Finishes What He Begins

Read: Philippians 1:6; Isaiah 46:9–10

Paul reminds the church in Philippi that the God who began a good work within them would continue that work until the day of Christ Jesus. Their confidence did not rest in human strength, perfect plans, or favorable circumstances. Their confidence rested in the faithfulness of God.

The same is true for believers today. There are moments when life feels uncertain and the future unclear. Yet Scripture reminds us that God is still at work. The Lord who calls His people is also faithful to sustain them. What God begins, He does not abandon.

Reflection Questions

· Why does Philippians 1:6 bring hope to believers?

· How have you seen God remain faithful during uncertain seasons?

· What does it mean to trust God with the future?

Family Application: Talk about a project or goal that took time and patience to complete.

Family Discussion Question: Why is it important not to give up when something takes time?

Monday, May 25, 2026 – The Holy Spirit Forms the Church

Read: Acts 2:1–4; Acts 2:41

On the day of Pentecost, God poured out His Holy Spirit upon the believers and formed the Church through the power of the Gospel. What began in that upper room did not end there. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, thousands came to faith in Jesus Christ, and the Church began carrying the message of Christ into the world.

Pentecost reminds us that the Church is not built merely through human effort or ability. The Church exists because God is at work among His people through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. The same Spirit who strengthened the first believers continues to guide, sustain, and shape the people of God today.

Reflection Questions

· Why is Pentecost important for understanding the life of the Church?

· What does it mean that the Holy Spirit still works among God’s people today?

· How does knowing that God is at work give us confidence for the future?

Family Application: Talk about ways people work together to accomplish something important.

Family Discussion Question: Why is it important to know that God helps and guides His people?

Friday, May 22, 2026 – Love That Binds Us Together
Read: Colossians 3:14; John 13:35
Paul writes that love “binds us all together in perfect harmony.” Love is the foundation that holds Christian community together. Without love, churches can easily become divided by disagreements, preferences, or misunderstandings.
Jesus taught that the world would recognize His disciples by the love they show one another. When believers live with humility, patience, and love, the church becomes a powerful witness to the grace of Christ.
Reflection Questions
• How does love strengthen Christian community?
• How can your actions reflect Christ’s love?
• What kind of witness do our relationships give to others?
Family Application: Talk about practical ways your family can encourage and care for one another this week.
Family Discussion Question: What does it mean to treat others with love?

Thursday, May 21, 2026 – Forgiveness
Read: Colossians 3:13; Matthew 18:21–22
Paul reminds believers to forgive others because Christ has first forgiven us. Forgiveness is not always easy, especially when wounds run deep. Yet the church is called to live under the grace of Christ rather than bitterness or resentment.
Grace received becomes grace extended. As believers remember the mercy they have received through Jesus Christ, they learn to extend that same mercy to others.
Reflection Questions
• Why is forgiveness central to the Christian life?
• How does remembering Christ’s forgiveness help us forgive others?
• What does it mean that grace received becomes grace extended?
Family Application: Talk about why apologizing and forgiving are important in healthy relationships.
Family Discussion Question: Why is forgiving someone sometimes difficult?

Wednesday, May 20, 2026 – Learning Patience
Read: Colossians 3:12–13; James 1:19
Patience is one of the clearest signs of spiritual maturity. Relationships often become difficult because people react too quickly with frustration, anger, or hurt. Paul reminds believers to bear with one another patiently.
The grace of Christ teaches us to listen carefully, respond gently, and extend understanding even when emotions are running high. Through difficult moments, Christ continues shaping His people into His likeness.
Reflection Questions
• Why is patience important in relationships?
• When have you needed patience from others?
• How can listening carefully help bring peace into difficult situations?
Family Application: Practice listening carefully to one another without interrupting.
Family Discussion Question: Why is it important to listen before reacting?
