Jack Cargill is a local artist who picked up the paintbrush again after his retirement. Please come check out his work and be inspired by his story to do the same by picking up your own paint brush too. The doors to Haven open at 3pm and the meet the artist and reception is at 4pm. Tomorrow from 8-10am is Arts in the Park at Smith Park with the Marshall Parks and Recreation and the Marshall Regional Arts Council.

I hope those who can volunteer tomorrow will join us at the basketball courts at Smith Park from 7:45am-10am. Our theme is Ancient Egypt. The children will be painting a sarcophagus; decorating a cardboard camel; putting jewels on a headband and collar; decorating a Senet board and learning to play Senet; Egyptian themed sand art; and creating a museum backdrop for play and photography from cereal boxes. Please come volunteer or bring your children to participate. Each family will also be given a book on Ancient Egypt or Scooby Doo at the Egyptian Museum to enjoy at home.

This Sunday, April 28, 2024 is the kick-off of Summer Fun Daze/Summer Sundays at the Marshall Convention Center, 2501 East End Blvd South, Marshall, Texas 75670. MRAC will be offering free art, music, and storytelling activities for the entire family. The Summer Fun Daze/Summer Sundays will take place on the second floor of the Marshall Convention Center on April 28, May 19, June 15, July 21, August 18, and September 15, 2024 from 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Summer Fun Daze/Summer Sundays at the Marshall Convention Center replaces the Third Saturday Weekends at Telegraph Park during the hottest times of the year. This year’s kick-off meeting will start today after church on the second floor of Fry Hall with a light sandwich lunch for girls and their parents. The theme this year is God and Me: A Journey through the Bible as we look at how the Bible can help us as we go through every stage of life. This study will:
Help the girls understand the Bible as a whole
Realize The Bible is a resource they can always turn to for hope and guidance
Connect with the people, places, and promise of God’s Word in a whole new way

Please join us after church on the second floor of Fry Hall.
