Church at Marshall

Church at Marshall Church at Marshall Jesus Christ the Son of God, both man and God. He is the Living Word, yet despised by men. We shall be transformed as He was transformed.

He was put to death on a cross, He died for you and for me. Raised from the dead on the third day, conquering death. Ascended to heaven with God, and he is awaiting word from the Father to return for His people, first the dead in Christ will arise, then those who are alive and remain will be caught up with him. Do you know HIM? Come to first Christian Church in Marshall, Arkansas WHERE CHRIST IS FIRST

I remember getting one of these “questionnaires” in my mailbox.

Even as a new follower of Christ at the time, it didn’t sit right with me to ask people who didn’t necessarily follow Christ, what they desired in a church gathering.

God has brought me on a long journey when it comes to what He desires our gatherings as believers to look like.
I have put much thought and prayer, and even wrestled with it over the years.

And I am convinced that “asking the masses” would not settle it for me. I’ll stick with the Word of God

“Why do we assume church has to look like what we’ve become used to in the modern Western church?
The early church gathered in homes, shared meals, prayed together, studied Scripture deeply, confessed sin, carried one another’s burdens, and lived like family under Biblical eldership and leaders. Church was never primarily about a stage, a building, or polished production — it was about believers devoted to Christ and to one another.
There’s nothing wrong with large gatherings or church buildings. But somewhere along the way, many of us began equating ‘real church’ with a specific format, schedule, or experience.
What if church is less about attending an event… and more about being a people?
Acts 2 describes believers who were deeply involved in each other’s lives daily — not just sitting in rows once a week.
Maybe we need to ask ourselves:
Have we embraced biblical church life, or simply the version of church culture we inherited?
‘They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.’ — Acts 2:42”

What a Day! We were able to minister at DOHTs for Lacey and Kansas”s promotion yesterday. We had a wonderful service and then we went to baptize Kansas and Lacey along with Lacey’s daughter. Well, the Lord had more in mind!

We baptized those 3 and then when asked if there were others who wanted to step forward in obedience in baptism we had another step forward, then another , then another, then another!!
We ended up baptizing 7 instead of the original 3!
God always has more in store!
