Sunday Sermon recap: "Jesus' Trial, Accusation, and Verdict"-John 18:19-19:15- Pastor Ben

Jesus had now been arrested and taken before Annas to be questioned. After this, He was brought before the high priest. Meanwhile, Peter waited outside, and when asked if he followed Jesus, Peter denied Him saying, "I am not."

This entire arrest and trial process was unlawful. The trial happened at night πŸŒ™ lasted only a few short hours had no formal charges, no proper witnesses, and was filled with corruption. During the questioning Jesus asked, "Tell me what I've done wrong." Instead of answering, one of the officials slapped Jesus for simply speaking the truth.

Peter was questioned again and denied Jesus - the rooster crowed...just as Jesus had said it would.

By Friday morning Jesus was brought to Pilate. Pilate asked Him, "Are you the King of the Jews?" Jesus answered that His kingdom was not of this world- His kingdom is God's kingdom. Pilate questioned Him further, and Jesus declared that He came to testify to the truth. Jesus IS the truth- the only real truth.

Pilate repeatedly said he could find no basis to convict Jesus, and even offered to release Him. But the crowd demanded Barabbas instead. Jesus was whipped, mocked, dressed in a purple robe and given a crown of thorns. Still Pilate said, "I find no basis for a charge against Him." Yet the chief priests shouted, "Crucify Him! Crucify Him!"

When Pilate asked Jesus why he would not answer him, Jesus reminded him: "You have no power over Me."

In the end, Jesus was handed over to be crucified-not because He was guilty, but because He willingly chose to take our place.

Sunday Sermon recap πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ ✈️
T.E.A.M. Missionaries to Germany- Andy & Jaycie Johnson

What a blessing to have the Johnson family with us this Sunday before they head to Germany in just 5 weeks! They shared about their ministry at Black Forest Academy, where they serve children of missionary families whose parents are faithfully serving Jesus all over the world. ❀️

Their mission is simple but powerful: show these kids love because Jesus loves everyone.

Andy & Jaycie spoke from Hebrews 12, reminding us what it means to faithfully run the race God has set before us.

πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ 1. Lay aside the obstacles- WE all carry things that weigh us down- sin, distractions, bitterness, unforgiveness. These things trip us up and keep us from running well for Christ.

πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ 2. Run with endurance- The Christian life is a race, and you can't run effectively while carrying things that entangle you. God calls us to keep going faithfully even when life gets difficult.

πŸ‘€ 3. Keep our eyes on Jesus. The focus of the race isn't ourselves- it's Jesus. "Fixing our eyes on Jesus," means trusting Him, following Him, and staying focused on Him through every season of life.

The message is simple and challenging:
Run the race. Trust the Lord. Keep your eyes on Jesus. ✝️

Sunday Sermon Recap✝️🌹

This Sunday we looked at the life of Timothy- a man raised by a Godly mother and grandmother whose faith was REAL. Paul loved Timothy because Timothy's faith wasn't fake or just for Sundays...it was sincere and rooted in Jesus Christ. πŸ™Œ

From childhood, Timothy learned the Word of God from the women who raised him. They lived their faith 7 days a week, teaching him through their example, prayers, and love.

As we continue through the book of John, we're reminded that our faith must be built on Christ and lived daily. Thank God for mothers and grandmothers who point generations toward Jesus! 🌸

And yes...our choir blessed us Sunday with the song: "M is for the million things she gave me...a word that means the world to me." 🎢 πŸ’•

Sunday Sermon recap: "egw eimi" I AM- Pastor Ben- John 18

Jesus' arrest and accusation Jesus knew exactly why He came to Earth- to die for our sins. Nothing happening in John 18 caught Him by surprise. πŸ™Œ

Judas arrived with a large group of soldiers, maybe 50-100 men, yet Jesus was still completely in control. Jesus asked, "Who is it you want?" They answered, "Jesus of Nazareth." Jesus replied, "I AM HE." ⚑️

When Jesus spoke these words, soldiers fell to the ground. Even in the middle of His arrest, His power and authority were on full display. Jesus then protected His disciples saying, "If you're looking for me, let these men go."

Jesus knew this was His mission. The time had come. Jesus was bound, arrested and led away...all according to God's plan for our salvation. ✝️❀️

πŸŽ“ We also celebrated Graduation Sunday and recognized our graduates! Emmanuel is SO proud of each of you and excited to see how God will continue to guide your future. ❀️Congratulations graduates! 🎊
