Sunday Sermon recap: "The End Is Just The Beginning"-Pastor Ben
πŸ“–John 21

John's Gospel can be summed up in one word: GRACE-God's love and blessing toward us.

After His resurrection, Jesus appeared to His disciples for the third time at the Sea of Galilee. Seven disciples, including Peter, had gone fishing, but after a long night they caught nothing. As morning came, Jesus stood on the shore, though they didn't recognize Him. He called out, "Did you catch any fish?" When they answered no, Jesus told them to cast their net on the right side of the boat. They obeyed and caught 153 large fish, yet the net did not tear.

When Peter realized it was Jesus, he jumped into the water to get to Him. On the shore, Jesus had already prepared breakfast of fish and bread for them.

Jesus then turned His attention to Peter. Three times He asked, "Do you love me?" and each time Peter answered, "Yes, Lord, You know I love you." Jesus responded, "Feed my lambs" and "Take care of my sheep." Though Peter was hurt by the third question, Jesus was restoring him after his three denials and reminding him of his calling.

The message is clear: God's grace restores, forgives, and gives us a new beginning. No matter our past failures, Jesus calls us to follow Him faithfully.

➑️ "Follow Me." That's the call Jesus gave Peter and it's the same call He gives us today. ✝️❀️

Sunday Sermon recap: "What If?" - Pastor Ben (John 20)

What if Jesus had stayed in the tomb? What if His burial was the end of the story? Without the resurrection, there would be no hope and no future. But God wasn't finished. Because Jesus rose from the grave, we have life!

Early on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene went to Jesus' tomb and found the stone rolled away. She ran to tell the disciples, who came and found the linen cloths lying there, but Jesus was gone. They still did not fully understand what had happened.

Mary remained at the tomb weeping. Looking inside, she saw two angels who asked why she was crying. Then she turned and saw Jesus, though she did not recognize Him at first. When Jesus spoke her name, "Mary," she immediately knew it was Him and cried out, "Teacher!"

Jesus told her to go and tell His brothers that he was returning to His Father and their Father, His God and their God. Mary went and shared the news: "I have seen the Lord!"

That evening Jesus appeared to His disciples and said, "Peace be with you." He showed them his hands and side, proving He was alive. Then He breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit."

The resurrection changed everything. Because Jesus lives, we have hope, peace, and life.

"What if Jesus had stayed in the tomb? Thankfully, He didn't- He is Risen, and because He lives, we have life!" ✝️

Sunday Sermon recap: "It is FINISHED!" John: 16-42

Sorry it's a little late folks!

1. The sign- Jesus carried His cross to Golgotha where a sign declared Him, "King of the Jews."

2. His clothes- the soldiers divided Jesus' garments fulfilling scriptures.

3. His Mother- Even while suffering on the cross, Jesus cared for His Mother, entrusting her to John.

4. & 5. Scripture fulfilled and burial- Jesus completed the work He came to do, declaring, "It is FINISHED." After His death his body was taken and prepared for burial.

Takeaway: When Jesus said, "It is FINISHED," He was declaring victory. He fulfilled God's plan from the beginning and became the lamb of God who died for you and me.

✝️ Three words that changed everything...❀️

Sunday Sermon recap: "Jesus' Trial, Accusation, and Verdict"-John 18:19-19:15- Pastor Ben

Jesus had now been arrested and taken before Annas to be questioned. After this, He was brought before the high priest. Meanwhile, Peter waited outside, and when asked if he followed Jesus, Peter denied Him saying, "I am not."

This entire arrest and trial process was unlawful. The trial happened at night πŸŒ™ lasted only a few short hours had no formal charges, no proper witnesses, and was filled with corruption. During the questioning Jesus asked, "Tell me what I've done wrong." Instead of answering, one of the officials slapped Jesus for simply speaking the truth.

Peter was questioned again and denied Jesus - the rooster crowed...just as Jesus had said it would.

By Friday morning Jesus was brought to Pilate. Pilate asked Him, "Are you the King of the Jews?" Jesus answered that His kingdom was not of this world- His kingdom is God's kingdom. Pilate questioned Him further, and Jesus declared that He came to testify to the truth. Jesus IS the truth- the only real truth.

Pilate repeatedly said he could find no basis to convict Jesus, and even offered to release Him. But the crowd demanded Barabbas instead. Jesus was whipped, mocked, dressed in a purple robe and given a crown of thorns. Still Pilate said, "I find no basis for a charge against Him." Yet the chief priests shouted, "Crucify Him! Crucify Him!"

When Pilate asked Jesus why he would not answer him, Jesus reminded him: "You have no power over Me."

In the end, Jesus was handed over to be crucified-not because He was guilty, but because He willingly chose to take our place.
