Last Team Update. Please pray for them as they make the long trek home!
Our team is now sitting in the Freetown airport waiting to start our journey home. We were not able to send an update for Sunday, so I am going to try to sum up the last two days of our trip.
Sunday started with some last minute medical needs. Vicki and Erica were able to do the final checkup on Samuel and Francis after their eye treatments. Both were doing very well and both had some vision improvement. Please pray that they continue to improve!
After the final vision checkups, part of our group went to the adult Sunday school and some went with the children. After Samuel and Hawa Jo led the music for the children, Vicki gave a fabulous Bible lesson! Everyone had a great time!
We split up the adults, so David could lead the men and Denise could lead the women. The people here are so thankful for Bible teachers on our teams!
After Sunday school, we got to hear Pastor Kolade preach the Word. It is always a treat to witness his passion for the Word and for winning souls to Christ!
We had delivered feed the need food to the surrounding village on Saturday evening and invited everyone to join us for church. We were so thankful that some of our new friends actually visited and heard the message! God is good!
As soon as church was over, most of us packed up our suitcases while Vicki, Erica and Daniel changed the bandage on Tamba Lebbie’s arm and hand. Vicki said it is much better since the first time they treated it and started him on antibiotics. Praise the Lord! Please keep praying for Tamba as he continues to heal.
When we finished packing, we loaded the bags on the Land Cruiser, and said our farewells. I don’t call them goodbyes, because we will be back as soon as we can.
The SS2 (senior secondary 2) boys joined us on our trip back to Freetown! They ate a great meal with us Sunday evening, and spent the morning with us before we had to head to the airport. We had such a great time swimming with them at the hotel for a while in the morning, then David Bondi took them for a quick trip to see the beach. We loved having them with us! Please pray for them this next week as they take their final exam of this school year.
Our team is sitting at the airport now waiting to board our first of 3 flights in our journey home.
Thank you so much for praying for our team! I promise we felt those prayers. God put this team together, and He was with us every step of the way!
God is doing some amazing things in this part of the world. I am just so thankful that he let us be a small part of it.
