We closed out the Momentum trip with a word from Pastor Reggie Hill encouraging us to do our part in “picking up a corner of the mat” just as the men who carried their paralyzed friend up a building, through a roof and down before Jesus where he would receive the healing he needed (Mark 2:1-5).

The mat being symbolic of the spiritual forces of evil and the spiritual conflicts within ourselves. Some lay and even live on their mats not realizing they are there. Others know they are there but don’t know what it takes to overcome.

What is your faith doing for your friends?

Someone else’s miracle may be dependent on your willingness to pick up a corner of their mat.

Are you willing to pick up a corner and move them just a little closer to Jesus?

Our students were challenged to not only keep Jesus to themselves but to share the Truth, that is Jesus Christ, to those around them. They were given practical steps to help them do just that.

Momentum was a powerful time to propel and challenge our students deeper in their understanding of Christ. Praise God!

Day 1 of Momentum 2024 was overwhelmingly amazing! Our youth students have prayed together, cried together, rejoiced together, broke down sermons/bible verses and saught after God.

We got blessed with 2 sessions from Peter Reeves on “Jesus is Greater” and “Expecting Victories”.

The first session closed with an alter call for those who were ready to profess that “Jesus is greater than my anger, anxiety, perversions, ect”. Our youth is hungry for breakthrough from the God who brings it and we got to witness it during this time.

One of our younger youth students saw a woman at the alter and felt the call from God to pray for her. He was a bit nervous so he asked one of our youngest youth leaders, a first time Momentum attender, to help him pray for her and they both laid hands and prayed over a stranger for the first time.

Another one of our youth students invited a friend from school to Momentum, the friend came back from the alter call and says “wow this is holy, it feels like God’s here.”

He is and He always is. God has been faithful and is doing a work. We are excited for day 2!!

We had an absolute blast yesterday baking up a storm with our amazing youth group! 🧁👩‍🍳👨‍🍳 Survivors Kitchen was filled with laughter, creativity, and the most delicious aromas.
