We would like to welcome new seminarian Matthew Henry to the Diocese of Marquette!

Transferring from the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, Matt previously served as a FOCUS Missionary at Michigan Tech and is still a familiar face to many in the area.
He will begin his seminary studies for the Diocese of Marquette in the fall, entering First Theology.

Please continue to pray for Matt & all our UP seminarians!

Can you find the THREE Yoopers in the picture?

Seventeen seminarians from Sacred Heart Major Seminary are preparing for ordination to the priesthood this spring and summer, answering God’s call to serve His Church.

As they reflect on their years of formation, the men shared the ways God has prepared them for priestly ministry through prayer, fraternity, service, and life at Sacred Heart.
“The love and praise we all gave to Jesus in the Eucharist has always left an impression on me,” shared Deacon Brandon Elias of the Chaldean Eparchy of St. Thomas the Apostle.

Please join us in praying for these ordinandi as they prepare to lay down their lives in service to Christ and His Church.

Final Spring Newsletter Nibble: William Heller's Propaedeutic Year Reflection

“Personally, it reshaped the whole way I view my
day. I used to look at my day as things I needed to
get done. Now I see it as a vocation entrusted to me
that flows out of relationship with Jesus and, in his
providence, I get to do the things I get to do today.
I have grown to have deep friendships with other
brothers, and it has been a joy to see Christ in them."

Newsletter Nibble 3: James Domitrovich's Propaedeutic Reflection

"It was a real turning point of my life, spiritually and personally, to what is truly important. To express one way I've been impacted spiritually is by noticing God's presence in the moment. God is not found in the past or future but encountered now. The Propaedeutic year gave me the space to practice this and fully turn myself towards Christ."

Spring Newsletter Nibble 2:
Here is Seminarian Alexander Gilliam reflecting briefly on the lasting effects on his formation of his first year in seminary:

"It created a space where I could step back from the pace of academics. . .and focus intentionally on my relationship with Christ.
Living closely with my brother seminarians strengthened me - we challenged one another and learned what it means to pursue holiness together."

Stay tuned for more reflections from this Spring's Newsletter!
