Church is Good This page is dedicated to celebrating the blessings of being part of a Christian community of faith, and in particular, an ELCA Lutheran community of faith

At a time when suspicion against institutions runs high, and culture has shifted, and the church is viewed negatively, this page seeks to lift up what church has always been meant to be, a blessing. Even as we acknowledge the church's failings, the hope rises that we can still become what God intends us to be, a community that is known by how well we welcome, love, and serve our each other, our neighbors, and the world.

Wear orange on the National Day of Remembrance for Indian Boarding Schools to help us remember the generations of children taken from their families and the long path towards healing.

Many Lutheran advocates continue to press for the Truth and Healing Commission on Indian Boarding School Policies in the United States Act reintroduced in the Senate, and Lutheran involvement in this history is actively researched through the ELCA’s Truth & Healing Movement. Thank you to our new friends from Nebraska! This past week, another volunteer team with Lutheran Disaster Response spent the week helping IAM better serve our neighbors in need. This particular group was from First Lutheran Church and Family of Christ Lutheran Church in Kearney, and Bethany Lutheran Church in Axtell

Their energy and compassion made a real difference, and we’re so grateful for their partnership!

Today we joyfully welcome the Rev. Yehiel Curry as he begins his six-year term as presiding bishop of the ELCA.

Rooted in God’s grace, Bishop Curry brings to his calling a spirit of hope, humility and bold faith. We pray for his ministry as he walks with this church into a new season.
