St. Paul's Lutheran Church WELS, Marquette, MI. St. Paul's Lutheran Church. WELS. Pastor John Ruege Jr. Worship starts at 9:00 a.m. on Sundays. Hwy 41 S. Later they officially formed St.

Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church is located at the top of Green Garden Hill about 8 miles southeast of Marquette, MI on U.S. Our congregation was started more than 150 years ago when five German Lutheran immigrant families arrived in the Marquette area in 1863 and began meeting together in their homes to read and study the Bible. Paul’s and in 1889 built the current historic church building in w

hich the congregation has worshiped since then. Paul’s is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). We subscribe to the belief that the entire Bible is inspired by God through the men he chose to write down his word. We believe as Jesus Christ himself says, “The scriptures cannot be broken” that is, in its 66 books there are no errors. We, therefore believe that the entire Bible from cover to cover is God’s Word. As a congregation of the WELS we also subscribe to the historic Lutheran confessions penned by the Lutheran Reformers of the 16th century and contained in the Book of Concord. We subscribe to these confessions because they clearly and thoroughly explain and expound the truths of scripture. We invite you to come and see for yourself what we believe and teach. Sunday morning worship is at 9:00 a.m. with Sunday school at 10:15 a.m. (for children pre-K to 6th grade). Pastor John Ruege, Jr., our pastor was installed as our 16th pastor on June 5, 2016.

Dear members and friends of St. Paul's, we are again experiencing a midweek snow storm. Because of the hazards of traveling in these conditions, Pastor Ruege is conducting service at St. Paul's this evening and all the other pastors are doing the same in their congregations. If you feel that the conditions are too risky for you to be on the road coming to church or returning home, especially in the dark, please do only what you are comfortable with. The service will be posted on the internet later today or sometime tomorrow.

God's blessings,

Pastor Ruege

St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Green Garden plans to hold Ash Wednesday service this evening. However, because our members live in areas and townships where snow removal does not always happen at the same rate as the main highways, and wind affects are different over a wide area, if anyone feels that the weather and roads are too dangerous especially after dark, no one should feel compelled to try to come to worship. Assuming we are able to have worship this evening, our service should be recorded and put up on Youtube if not this evening then sometime tomorrow.

"Bless those who persecute you; bless, and do not curse. Rejoice with those who are rejoicing; weep with those who are weeping. Have the same respect for one another. Do not be arrogant, but associate with the humble. Do not think too highly of yourselves. Do not pay anyone back evil for evil. Focus on those things that everyone considers noble. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, maintain peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath. For it is written, "Vengence is mine; I will repay," says the Lord. But: If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink. For by doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." Romans 12:14-21.
