Husband of the late Cheryl Agee; son-in-law of Bruce Miles

Woodrow "Terry" T. Agee

Maroa -- Woodrow "Terry" T. Agee, 74, of Maroa, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Sullivan Health Care in Sullivan.

Graveside Services for Terry will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Maroa Township Cemetery with Mr. Scott Marsh officiating.

Terry was born on September 3, 1952, in Decatur, the son of Lyle R. and Hazel Roxanne Horn Agee. He was united in marriage to the love of his life Cheryl M. Miles on July 14, 1989. She preceded Terry in death on March 22, 2026.

He is survived by his sons: Andrew (Lauren) Agee and Aaron (Camilyn) Agee; two grandchildren: Ayden and Emma; and two sisters: Rebecca (Gary) Becker and Roberta Hunter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and two brothers: Gary Lynn Agee and Ron Agee.

Terry graduated from the Argenta Oreana High School in 1970. He spent many years as a farm hand and other various jobs, but was most recently employed at Kelly Construction working as a carpenter at ADM.

Terry spent his days with his kids in the yard playing baseball, football, and any sport they wanted to play. He enjoyed woodworking, spending time with his family and grandchildren, and watching his boys play sports. His favorite pastime was watching his boys play baseball.

Memorials may be made to the Maroa-Forsyth High School Baseball Program.

Peasley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jesus taught a parable about a farmer sowing seed. The seed fell on four different locations, each producing a different result. The sower was the same, the seed was the same, so what made the difference? The condition of the soil. We see what this means to listening to God in this morning's message.

Life is lived at a fast pace. We do everything fast--even eating. But when it comes to eating, we need to slow down and chew our food for better digestion and health. The same is true spiritually. We need to slow down and chew our spiritual food, and that is done through the practice of meditation.

Filters are used in everyday life, such as oil or fuel filters in car engines, or camera and music filters that alter the original into something creative or fun. Spiritually, we have filters that affect our ability to hear the voice of God. In this morning's message we consider three such filters.

Scammers are all around us, trying to make us think they are authentic when they are bogus. Spiritually many scammers try to do the same thing, trying to sound like God's voice when they are not. Not many movies have a date on the calendar associated with them, but Star Wars does: May 4, as in, "May the fourth be with you." That brings to mind the story in Daniel 3 of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego when they were thrown into the fiery furnace by King Nebuchadnezzar. Not only were the three men spared being consumed by the flames, but a fourth person was seen with them--"one like a son of the gods!" the king exclaimed. This morning, Rodney Theobald reminds us that God is always with us, no matter what we're going through.
