As kids head back to school this week, we’re praying for a safe, happy, and wonderful school year for each and every student! May this year be filled with learning, new friendships, growth, and lots of reasons to smile. We’re also praying for all the teachers, staff, and families as they begin another school year!

A special thank you to Molly for creating these super cute back-to-school centerpieces for Holy Grounds! They are the perfect reminder that we’re cheering on and praying for all of our students.

After a wonderful summer break, we’re excited to welcome our children and youth back to Sunday School this Sunday!

Classes will begin immediately following Sunday service, at approximately 11AM, and will conclude at 11:30AM.

We’re looking forward to another great year of learning, growing, asking questions, building friendships, and discovering more about God’s love and His Word. Our new curriculum is ready, and we can’t wait to get started!

We hope all of our young people will join us as we begin this new Sunday School year. See you Sunday!

What exactly is a "vestry"?

If you’ve ever heard someone at church say, “It’s in the vestry,” and wondered what they meant, you’re not alone!

At Eastmoor, the vestry is a room used behind the scenes to help make worship happen. It’s where volunteers may count and secure the offering, store sanctuary supplies, and keep many of the items needed for worship each week.

It’s one of those church words that seems obvious… until you realize nobody ever explained it!

Backpack Blessing this Sunday!

As our kids head into a new school year, we want to send them off covered in prayer and reminded that God goes with them wherever they go. Don’t forget to have your kids bring their bookbag this Sunday, August 16th at 9:45AM for a special Backpack Blessing and tag! 📚✏️🎒

Behind the Scenes!

Today, we’re excited to shine the spotlight on Ginny Ford Lind, our Membership Secretary! In this role, Ginny helps keep our church’s membership records organized and up to date, helping us stay connected with the people who make up our church family.

Ginny also leads the Christian Fellowship Sunday School class, is a longtime member of United Women in Faith and UMCOR, and faithfully bakes the bread we share for Communion each month. Ginny has also served as our Certified Lay Servant since 2015.

Ginny joined Eastmoor in 2002, after moving to Marion with her husband, Doug, and their son, John. From 2004 to 2024, Ginny served as our Office Administrative Assistant, working faithfully alongside five different pastors through the years. She has also shared her gifts in the choir and as a youth Sunday School teacher.

Thank you, Ginny, for the many ways you have served, and continue to serve, Eastmoor!
