Praise God that the storm we were dreading did not hit us to the degree we were anticipating. We are not seeing the power outages that could have been, but if you are still in need of a warm location, the East Marion warming station at 635 Baldwin Ave will operate tomorrow from 10am - 4pm.

East Marion Community Church will house one of McDowell County's warming stations at 635 Baldwin Ave. It will be open on Monday from 8am - 4pm. Please note that this is for daytime use only. Overnight shelters are provided at Glenwood Baptist Church and the McDowell Senior Center.

In the event that you do not have access to cellular signal, refer to the graphics in this post to connect your phone signal to a satellite. This will allow for you to send text messages or call 911 for emergencies.
