I was just thinking about Deuteronomy 6:5. The greatest commandment is not to obey or worship God but to love God. I almost said his greatest "desire" is to be loved. But actually he has always experienced perfect love- receiving and giving perfectly and eternally within the trinity. He wants to share that best experience with us!

Easter Sunday is coming! It is a joyful time of year to celebrate specifically Jesus’ resurrection. On Christmas we celebrate Christ’s birth. On Good Friday we recognize (with mixed emotions) Christ’s death. And on Easter we celebrate his coming back to life. We are not instructed by God’s word to honor these days, but find them to be meaningful ways to publicly fix our minds on essential elements of the gospel message of God’s gift of salvation. Looking forward to celebrating Easter with you on April 5 at our 7AM sunrise service and our regular gathering at 9:10.
