WHAT TYPE OF GROUND IS YOUR HEART?
Last night at Core Youth, we had a powerful conversation about the condition of our hearts.
This wasn’t about questioning our salvation. It was about asking ourselves a deeper question:
When God’s Word is planted in our hearts, are we allowing it to take root, grow, and produce fruit?
Jesus taught about four types of soil in the Parable of the Sower (Matthew 13).
And last night, our students got REAL!
Some admitted their hearts were like rocky ground. They receive God’s Word, and it begins to take root, but without deep roots, it eventually fades away.
Others recognized the thorns in their lives. The people they surround themselves with, distractions, and worldly influences are choking out what God is trying to grow.
But here’s what made last night so special…
Our students recognized the condition of their hearts and asked God to soften them!
They don’t just want to hear God’s Word. They want it to grow, take deep roots, and change their lives!
And THAT is why we’re here as Core Youth!
We’re not just gathering students on Wednesday nights. We’re helping them build a relationship with Jesus that goes deeper than a moment, an emotion, or a church service.
Over the next few weeks, we’re going to focus on GROWING DEEP ROOTS!
Because when the storms come, and they WILL come, we want our students to be firmly planted in Jesus!
The question isn’t just whether the seed has been planted. It’s whether we’re allowing it to grow.
