Good Shepherd is a member of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod and is located on South Carbon just north of Marion High School. As a Lutheran congregation which is a member of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod we believe, teach and confess that Jesus Christ, who is true God and true man, died on the cross for our sins and rose from the dead. Ivy received First Communion prior to Confirmation today. She attended Learn by Heart during the school year as she was catechized on the parts of the Catechism. She was examined by Pastor Surburg regarding her understanding of the Catechism, and especially, the Sacrament of the Altar. We rejoice that she will now receive Christ’s true body and Blood. Ivy will receive more Catechesis when she is in Junior High.
