🌷 Clean out your Bible study basket, regathering your resources and tools for the season ahead.

Likely, your once-orderly Bible study resource basket is now scattered all about the home. When you sit to read your Bible, you realize your pens are amiss, your highlighters snuck their way into your kids' pencil pouches, and your journal grew legs and walked upstairs. The struggle to open your Bible is already real, but now, it feels chaotic and downright impossible.

It's not that you need the extra resources, but surely, they do assist in reading the Word of God. Take 1️⃣5️⃣ minutes today to grab a basket or bin or simply pick a spot to make the home base of your Bible study tools. With your very own toolkit assembled, the barrier between you and time in God's Word is decreased.

▶️ Once you've spring-cleaned your Bible study basket, comment telling us where you keep it and how you keep your Bible study resources organized! 🧺📖

ARE YOU WANDERING?
“Why, O Lord, do You make us wander from Your ways and harden our hearts so we do not revere You? Return for the sake of Your servants, the tribes that are Your inheritance” (Isa. 63:17).

“Wander from Your ways” is powerfully descriptive as we consider how easy it is to move away from a right relationship to God. It does not take effort to drift. You just quit trying. You lose focus. Staying close to God requires effort. We are not talking about earning our salvation . . . that is not dependent upon our effort, but upon God’s grace. Maintaining and nurturing the relationship will mean giving ourselves to prayer, the Word, fellowship, and worship.
How many have shipwrecked their faith, not by deliberate rebellion, but by drifting away through inattention? Wandering aimlessly through life, we miss the Lord’s presence and His power to transform. Might that even be a picture of the 21st century church today as we wander away from the firm commitment to daily seek His face?
O God, forgive my tendency to wander away from You. I get so caught up in daily activities that I find myself off doing my own thing and not paying attention to You. Like the hymnist I find myself saying, “prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to leave the God I love. Here’s my heart, Lord, take and seal it, seal it for Thy courts above.”

This is such a good lesson!

March 31 - Let God Be Your Focus
“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer” (Ps. 19:14).

Beware of formulas that can trip you up as you pray. Sometimes when the Lord shows us a specific way to pray for a situation, we write it down in the hope that it may be helpful to others but it becomes a formula. We don’t mean for it to happen, but once it’s on paper it takes on a life of its own. The prayer or symbolism or method becomes the focus, rather than God. Remember that God told Moses to strike the rock the first time and speak to it the second time. Keep your focus on what God wants and His timing.

Even the schedules that are so helpful to us in the beginning as we learn to spend time in prayer (now I praise, now I repent, now I ask, etc). can become not only the means but the end with little thought to what is on HIS heart today, so be careful. Let Him form the words—let Him be your focus!

Lord keep my eyes focused on You rather than any prayer formula. I long to understand Your thoughts today, Lord!
