✝️ I BOW TO JESUS CHRIST ALONE
“MY SAVIOUR • MY LORD • MY HOPE • MY ALL”
📖 Philippians 2:10–11 KJV
“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow... And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
🔥 INTRODUCTION — CHRIST IS NOT PART OF OUR FAITH; CHRIST IS THE CENTER OF IT
The Christian faith is not ultimately centered on a denomination, preacher, church building, religious ceremony, or human tradition.
It is centered on the Lord Jesus Christ.
From a Dispensational perspective, we recognize distinctions in God's dealings with mankind. We distinguish Prophecy from Mystery, Israel from the Body of Christ, Law from Grace, and the Twelve's kingdom ministry from Paul's distinctive apostleship.
But right division must never make us think there are two Saviours.
There is ONE LORD JESUS CHRIST.
📖 1 Corinthians 8:6
“...one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.”
The Christ who came according to prophecy is the same Christ who later revealed the Mystery to Paul. What changed was not Christ's identity, but the revelation of God's purpose concerning what Christ accomplished through the Cross and the formation of the Body of Christ.
Paul did not call us to worship Paul.
Paul pointed us to CHRIST.
📖 1 Corinthians 11:1
“Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.”
So our message is:
NOT PAUL ALONE.
NOT RELIGION ALONE.
NOT OUR CHURCH ALONE.
BUT JESUS CHRIST ALONE AS SAVIOUR AND LORD!
1️⃣ CHRIST IS OUR JUSTIFICATION
📖 Romans 5:1
“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
The first reason we bow to Christ is that our righteousness before God is found in Him—not ourselves.
We cannot justify ourselves.
Religion cannot justify us.
Law-keeping cannot justify us.
Only God's grace through the finished work of Christ can.
A. JUSTIFIED BY GRACE
📖 Romans 3:24
“Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”
Notice the word freely.
Justification is not God's reward for religious achievement.
It is God's gracious declaration concerning the sinner who believes.
You do not earn justification.
You receive it by faith.
B. JUSTIFIED BY FAITH
📖 Romans 5:1
Paul does not say:
“Being justified by baptism...”
“Being justified by church membership...”
“Being justified by keeping commandments...”
He says:
“JUSTIFIED BY FAITH.”
📖 Romans 4:5
“But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly...”
Faith rests in what Christ has accomplished.
C. JUSTIFIED WITHOUT LAW
📖 Romans 3:28
“Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.”
Under the present Dispensation of Grace, we do not go back to Israel's Mosaic Law to complete what Christ accomplished at Calvary.
🔥 OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS IS NOT SOMETHING WE ACHIEVE—IT IS SOMETHING GOD PROVIDES IN CHRIST.
2️⃣ CHRIST IS OUR LIFE
📖 Colossians 3:4
“When Christ, who is our life, shall appear...”
Christianity is more than receiving religious improvement.
In Christ we receive new life.
A. LIFE IS A GIFT
📖 Romans 6:23
“...the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Sin earns wages.
God gives a gift.
The wages are death.
The gift is eternal life.
And that gift is:
“THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.”
B. LIFE IS IN CHRIST
📖 Colossians 3:3
“For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.”
Our spiritual standing is not secured by our changing emotions.
Our life is identified with Christ.
Therefore, our confidence is not:
“I am strong enough.”
It is:
“I am in Christ.”
C. LIFE SHOULD BE LIVED FOR CHRIST
📖 Galatians 2:20
“...Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God...”
Grace does not teach careless living.
Grace produces grateful living.
📖 Titus 2:11–12
Saving grace also teaches us to deny ungodliness and live soberly, righteously, and godly.
🔥 WE DON'T LIVE HOLY TO GET LIFE; WE LIVE FOR CHRIST BECAUSE IN CHRIST WE HAVE LIFE.
3️⃣ CHRIST IS OUR SALVATION
📖 1 Corinthians 15:1–4
Here is the heart of Paul's Gospel:
Christ died for our sins.
He was buried.
He rose again the third day.
The Gospel is not primarily about what you promise to do for Jesus.
It is the good news about what Jesus Christ has already done for you.
A. SACRIFICE OF CHRIST
📖 1 Corinthians 15:3
“...Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures.”
He did not merely die as an example of courage.
Paul says:
“FOR OUR SINS.”
📖 Romans 5:8
“...while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Our sin created the need.
Christ's death supplied the payment.
B. SEPULCHRE OF CHRIST
📖 1 Corinthians 15:4
“And that he was buried...”
His burial confirms the reality of His death.
The Gospel is based upon an accomplished historical work—not religious philosophy.
Christ truly died.
Christ truly was buried.
C. SUPREMACY OF HIS RESURRECTION
📖 1 Corinthians 15:4
“...and that he rose again the third day...”
The Cross was not the end.
HE ROSE AGAIN!
📖 Romans 4:25
“Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.”
🔥 THE SAVING GOSPEL IS CHRIST'S DEATH, BURIAL, AND RESURRECTION—NOT OUR RELIGIOUS PERFORMANCE.
4️⃣ CHRIST IS OUR HEAD
📖 Colossians 1:18
“And he is the head of the body, the church...”
This truth becomes especially important in the Mystery revealed through Paul.
Christ is not merely Israel's promised Messiah.
Paul reveals Christ in a previously hidden relationship as Head of the Body.
A. HEAD OVER THE BODY
📖 Ephesians 1:22–23
Christ is:
“...the head over all things to the church, Which is his body...”
The Church today is not fundamentally a building, denomination, or religious institution.
The Church which is His Body is a spiritual organism whose Head is Christ.
B. HARMONY IN ONE BODY
📖 Ephesians 2:15–16
In the Body of Christ, believing Jew and Gentile are reconciled:
“...in one body by the cross...”
This equality is part of the Mystery.
📖 Ephesians 3:6
Gentiles are:
“...fellowheirs, and of the same body...”
Not Gentiles becoming Israel.
Not Gentiles placed beneath Israel.
But Jew and Gentile made one new man in Christ.
C. HEAVENLY HEADSHIP
📖 Colossians 2:10
“And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.”
Our completeness is not found in earthly religious systems.
WE ARE COMPLETE IN CHRIST.
Nothing needs to be added to Christ to improve our spiritual standing before God.
🔥 CHRIST IS THE HEAD—THE CHURCH IS HIS BODY. NEVER PUT THE BODY ABOVE THE HEAD.
5️⃣ CHRIST IS OUR SECURITY
📖 Romans 8:38–39
The believer's salvation does not depend upon his ability to hold onto Christ.
Our confidence rests in what God has accomplished for us in Christ.
A. SEALED BY THE SPIRIT
📖 Ephesians 1:13–14
“...after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.”
Notice the order:
Hear the Word of Truth → Believe the Gospel → Sealed by the Spirit.
The believer is not placed on spiritual probation after believing.
B. SECURED UNTIL REDEMPTION
📖 Ephesians 4:30
“...whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.”
How long are we sealed?
Not until our next failure.
Not until our next bad day.
Not until we fall short.
“UNTO THE DAY OF REDEMPTION.”
This does not give permission to sin.
Rather, security should motivate gratitude and godly service.
C. SEPARATED BY NOTHING
📖 Romans 8:38–39
Paul lists death, life, angels, principalities, powers, things present, things to come, height, depth, and every other creature—and concludes that none:
“...shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Our security is located where our salvation is located:
IN CHRIST.
🔥 IF CHRIST SAVES US COMPLETELY, CHRIST DOES NOT NEED OUR WORKS TO KEEP HIS SAVING WORK COMPLETE.
🏁 CONCLUSION — JESUS CHRIST IS ENOUGH
What does the believer possess in Christ?
1️⃣ CHRIST IS OUR JUSTIFICATION
We are declared righteous by grace through faith.
2️⃣ CHRIST IS OUR LIFE
Eternal life is God's gift in Him.
3️⃣ CHRIST IS OUR SALVATION
His death, burial, and resurrection are the heart of the Gospel.
4️⃣ CHRIST IS OUR HEAD
We are members of His Body and complete in Him.
5️⃣ CHRIST IS OUR SECURITY
We are sealed unto the day of redemption.
This is why Paul could say:
📖 Philippians 3:8
“...that I may win Christ,”
Right division should never make us merely obsessed with charts, timelines, and theological arguments.
The purpose of sound doctrine is to lead us into a clearer understanding of the glory and sufficiency of CHRIST.
SAME SAVIOUR.
DIFFERENT DISPENSATIONAL DEALINGS.
ONE GLORIOUS CHRIST.
📣 CALL TO ACTION — THREE “B's”
1️⃣ BELIEVE IN CHRIST'S FINISHED WORK
📖 1 Corinthians 15:1–4
Stop trusting your goodness, religion, baptism, church membership, ceremonies, or personal merit for salvation.
Believe that Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose again.
CHRIST DID THE SAVING WORK.
2️⃣ BOW TO CHRIST'S LORDSHIP
📖 Philippians 2:10–11
Every knee will ultimately bow.
Every tongue will ultimately confess.
Do not merely speak about Christ.
Live for the One who saved you.
📖 2 Corinthians 5:15
“...they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.”
3️⃣ BUILD UP CHRIST'S BODY
📖 Ephesians 4:12
Our ministry is not about building our personal kingdom.
Not our name.
Not our fame.
Not our following.
Our ministry should preach Christ and edify His Body.
📖 1 Corinthians 3:5–7
God's servants minister, but God gives the increase.
💭 FINAL THOUGHTS — “I BOW TO JESUS CHRIST ALONE”
When everything else fails, Christ remains sufficient.
When religion says, “Do more,”
Grace points to Christ and says, “Look at what He has done.”
When the Law reveals that you fall short,
the Gospel reveals the One who died for your sins.
When your feelings change,
your position in Christ remains your ground of confidence.
When human leaders disappoint,
Christ remains the Head.
When death approaches,
Christ remains our hope.
1️⃣ J — JUSTIFICATION
📖 Romans 5:1
Christ makes the believing sinner righteous before God.
2️⃣ E — ETERNAL LIFE
📖 Romans 6:23
Christ gives what human works could never earn.
3️⃣ S — SALVATION
📖 1 Corinthians 15:1–4
Christ died, was buried, and rose again for us.
4️⃣ U — UNION
📖 Ephesians 3:6
In Christ, believing Jews and Gentiles are members of the same Body.
5️⃣ S — SECURITY
📖 Ephesians 4:30
The believer is sealed unto the day of redemption.
✝️ JESUS CHRIST—
MY SAVIOUR.
MY RIGHTEOUSNESS.
MY LIFE.
MY HEAD.
MY HOPE.
MY ALL.
📖 Colossians 2:10 KJV
“And ye are complete in him...”
We do not rightly divide the Bible to make less of Christ. We rightly divide the Bible so that we may understand more clearly what the risen Christ is doing today and what He has made us IN HIM.
