Sonrise Westside Community Church

Sonrise Westside Community Church Sonrise Westside Community Church was founded on September 29, 2002. Pastor Darrin will be the Lead Pastor of Rock Harbor Christian Fellowship in Morro Bay.

Before that, lead pastor Darrin Mariott was an assistant pastor at Metro church, a Calvary Chapel in Santa Monica. We first met on Sunday evenings at the Courtyard by Marriott in Marina del Rey until God provided us with a community partnership and Sunday morning home. On December 1, 2002, we held our first Sunday morning worship service at our current facility, the Boys and Girls Club of Venice.

After 20 years serving Venice , the Sonrise leadership decided the church has served its purpose and on July 17 the church held its last service. We were administratively governed by a board of directors that includes our lead pastor, Darrin Mariott. In addition to Darrin, Elders Tom Hooper and Keith Smith provide spiritual oversight for the church and share in the spiritual care of all who attend. The Word of God is our highest authority, and we prayerfully aspire to biblical models of leadership at every level.
