# 📰🔥 The Watchman Column | The Gospel of Peace or the Politics of Peace?

The world longs for peace. Nations call for peace. Religious leaders call for peace. Yet Bible prophecy warns that not every call for peace is rooted in the truth of God.

Scripture reveals that one of the final deceptions will come under the language of unity, harmony, and global cooperation. What sounds noble on the surface may conceal a deeper agenda. The question is not whether peace is desirable. The question is whether peace is being pursued according to the Word of God or according to the traditions and authority of men.

“For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them...” - 1 Thessalonians 5:3.

Throughout history, religious institutions have often spoken the language of compassion while simultaneously concealing corruption, abuse, persecution, and compromise. The Bible warns God's people not to judge by appearances but by fruits.

“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” - Matthew 7:15.

Prophecy foretells a power that would appear lamb-like, yet eventually speak as a dragon. It would present itself as a moral authority for the world while influencing kings, governments, and nations.
