What if we viewed a symbol of inclusion not through a political lens, but through the lens of grace?

It is incredibly easy for our culture to reduce complex conversations to partisan talking points. But at the core of our faith is a call to extend a sincere welcome to those who have felt left out or rejected by the church.

What does it mean to truly welcome people? Throughout the Gospels, we see Jesus continually breaking long-established traditions to heal, to love, and to move people from the margins to the center. When we hold up a mirror to ourselves and ask how we can be better neighbors, we become stronger together. There is room for all of us.

We are thrilled to see a familiar face recognized for his incredible servant leadership!

Join us in celebrating Pastor Crispin Ilombe Wilondja, a regular participant at our LCR Men's retreats!

On May 29, 2026, the Southeastern Synod honored him with the Robert S. and Jean E. Graetz Advocacy Award. Pastor Crispin earned this recognition through his profound dedication to authentic inclusion for immigrants and refugees, accompanying them well beyond their initial resettlement. He is a remarkable example of servant leadership, bridging communities as a stabilizing pastoral presence across two congregations. Driven by his dedication, he sacrifices his own time and resources, even working multiple jobs to sustain his ministry. Through it all, he brings humility, calm, and a genuine smile to his work, always ready to say, "let me tell you a story".

In addition to the award, the Synod provided $1,000 for Pastor Crispin to donate to a non-profit of his choice.

Carter and LeAnn just got back from representing LCR at the 2026 Southeastern Synod Assembly in Columbus and here’s a quick recap of the week!

This year's theme was “Revive Us, God: Church for the Life of the World.” Between hearing testimonies and connecting with other congregations, it was a great reminder of how the Holy Spirit is at work in our broader community.

A highlight was seeing Pastor Bonner step up to lead the wider church. He shared his insights on the “Mission as Revival” panel to discuss moving the church’s mission forward, and he also led the assembly in worship on Day 2. It was a deeply moving experience that included a powerful sermon from Pastor Olu Brown.

Huge thanks to Carter and LeAnn for making the trip as our reps, and we're so proud of Pastor Bonner for sharing his gifts with the synod!

A glimpse into worship last week at the Southeastern Synod Assembly.

Here is our own Pastor Bonner leading the congregation in prayer. It was a moving, spirit-filled experience for everyone in the room. We are so proud to see him sharing his gifts and leading the wider church!
