Vineyard Community Church of Marietta

Vineyard Community Church of Marietta Sunday Service Time: 4:00pm
We are currently meeting in the Family Life Center at Shiloh Hills Baptist Church Without it, encounter turns into genre and style.

We believe that God still does today what He did back then. We also hold in tension that not everything in life goes the way we’d hope it would. We walk through that tension together, actively embracing the now and the not yet. This is why we pray at the beginning and end of each service because we believe that God wants us to ask him for resolution in our lives. Encounter the Living God

ENCOUNTER
Throughout the Bible, when we see followers of God encounter Him together, we see powerful things happen. As a church, we intentionally create space in our gathered times together to experience the Living God in our worship, song, reflection on Scripture, and prayer. Whether in a large group on Sunday mornings, small groups at home, or one on one in a coffee shop, we believe any time together with each other is spent in communion with God. EMBODY
Our prayer is that in everything we do, we hope to be formed to become more like Christ for the sake of others. To be intentional in our preparation of the Sunday service to be Christ-centric, so that we have consistency in what is seen and said pointing towards Jesus. We embrace what might feel uncomfortable in order to be formed more Christ-like. EMBARK
We believe church doesn’t end on Sunday mornings, but that it is just the beginning. That we take the love of Jesus into our homes, our workplaces, our neighborhoods and transform the world. Being a spirit-driven church is extremely important to us. Formation and embodiment becomes empty ritual, and embarking on mission turns into technique. We want to intentionally seek the Holy Spirit on how to include diverse genres and styles that reflect our community and who we are called to be.

Hey church family!

I don’t come around Facebook very often these days, but this podcast with our very own Diane Thiel-Sharp is 🔥🔥🔥!

Give yourself a gift and give this week’s Vineyard Worship podcast a listen.

Love & Peace,
Brad Inman

In this episode of The Ferment, Diane Thiel-Sharp shares about her early relationship with music, how she came to love the Lord, and early encounters with the Holy Spirit speaking through her in song. She then tells the story of the events that dramatically changed her life, how the Lord has repeatedly opened doors for her, and the story of her well-known song "If You Say Go."

For over twenty years, Diane Thiel-Sharp has been singing, writing songs, touring and recording. She is an extremely gifted vocalist who carries with her a very rich history of practical experience and music expertise. During the 80’s, Diane was signed to Light Records and toured with the band Triloje. She also toured the Midwest and the Chicago-land college and club scenes performing with alternative rock band, The Bond—listed by The Chicago Sun-Times as “one of the best unsigned bands in the area.”

While we don't know what the future holds, we will be moving to mask optional starting this Sunday, February 22.

This pandemic has been hard for most of us, and continues to be difficult and present a large risk for others, including families in our community.

We recognize this decision may make some uncomfortable, while causing others to rejoice.

Each of us has experienced these past two years uniquely, isolating and distancing us in more ways from one another than most of us could have imagined.

In response, we would like to invite you to join us in worship this Sunday in whatever way you may are comfortable. To come together, united in following Jesus, that we may together experience the whole story of God, uniting our suffering and celebration in worship.

If you or your family are at a high risk due to comorbidities or other circumstances and not comfortable joining us, please let us know how best we can serve you.

While we will continue to stream services, sharing worship through song, Scripture, prayer and Communion in person are important, and we would love to find other ways to serve you if need be.

During this week's Gospel reading, we heard John the Baptist (or J the B, as Pastor Brad calls him) announcing the good news we wait for in Jesus.

And when he responded to the people's asking what should we do, he tells them to act in the way of the kingdom through radical generosity.

In response, we invite you to join us by helping two organizations - Egleston Cardiac ICU and Convoy of Hope.

Egleston's Hospital provides care to children, and their Cardiac ICU has an Amazon gift list they've put together for their patients and patient's families that will be unable to be home during the holidays.

And Convoy of Hope is a ministry Vineyard USA partners with that provides relief during disaster recovery efforts. They are currently accepting donations to help in response to the tornado outbreak this past weekend in Kentucky.
