Mr Jarvis (Pewitt board president) and I spoke today (March 20th) and he stated that he had agreed in an earlier email that Marietta could have the bell back once 3 separate entities agreed as to who gets the bell. I had talked with MVFD Chief and also the Pastor of the Oak Ridge Baptist Church. It was agreed the best place for the bell would be at the cemetery.

Mr Jarvis stated in the phone call that the bell would be returned to Marietta after the school board meets in April.

As chairman of the Oak Ridge Cemetery Association, I am glad this has been settled.

People with members interred at Oak Ridge Cemetery who were veterans can check out the flags placed today in their honor for Veterans Day.
If you know someone who doesn't have a flag or marker post the veteran's name and we can place a flag.

Archway has been raised and painted. Gates were pressure washed and repainted. Monument truck should have no problem getting into cemetery now.

April 27 meeting update:

Congratulations to our new trustees -Lacey Nunn and Danny Ellington. John Moore was also reelected as Vice Chairman. Thanks to the 4 members who came to the meeting

We would like to thank all those who came before us in the association. We hope to continue their fine work.

We will be getting arch painted and raised after July. We will be getting quote for monument cleaning, uprighting and straightening. We will get Moore Pest Control to attend to the gopher problem.

We will be getting quotes for a 30x20 metal pavilion with concrete foundation.

Please make sure to mark your purchased plot with metal or stone ID.

We will have our annual meeting on April 27th at the Oakridge Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Marietta.
