Greetings, Ozark Methodist Church friends and family. First, a little history about our Church on the hill beside the cemetery. We started having services under pastor Robert J. Allen in 1882. On February 7, 1947 during a funeral in the cemetery there was a fire in the church that destroyed it. By the end of 1948 we were back as strong as ever and determined to not let a fire keep the Church down. It was rebuilt quickly and in 1977 bathrooms and a fellowship hall were added to back of the building which is what we have today.
We are beginning upgrades to the church with installation of new windows and doors for energy efficiency while maintaining the architectural aspect from when our church was built.
We have offered to our members the opportunity to purchase a window for $500 or half a window for $250 in memory or honor of a loved one or as a family donation. Brass engraved plates with the name of loved ones or family that donates to this cause will be displayed on the windows. We are installing 29 windows so there is plenty of room for anyone who wants to donate. You can contact Lesha Hood at Farmers and Merchants Bank Mantachie branch to offer your donation.
As always, thank you for your support, and for watching our service on Facebook each week. We look forward to seeing you at a service soon.
We have more ideas for our little Church in the works but as with anything we need community support to make them happen. Thank you for your suppprt through the years, and now as we continue with the next chapter in our ministry.
