What a great day yesterday was! If you want to be a downer, you could very easily say it was sad. (And it was a little). But if you take the time to enjoy what was going on in our little slice of the Diocese, it was a GREAT day. Yesterday was the day that we officially said “see you again” to our seminarian Foster Peterson. We’ve known Foster for around 14 - 15 years or so. What a guy. So watching him move to another church, to continue his journey towards becoming Priest, well, is hard. BUT as he goes to his 3rd year of study, and then moves again in another year, other parts / churches, will be able to see what an incredible person he is. Hopefully he will be able to lead others as he has been lead by our own Fr. Paul and others. We all say congratulations Foster!

Good evening everyone! Another successful outreach event tonight. Our team, without hesitation, got together to cook, build, transport and serve a hot meal to a group of wonderful people who find themselves in an unfortunate situation. I could, as you know, ramble on and write a book, but let’s just say that a great team of caring people showed a lot of care tonight, to our brothers and sisters in need. A big thank you to everyone.

Come Join us this Sunday, August 30th to Hear Foster Peterson, Seminarian, preach at both services and for a Celebration and Send Off!!
On Sunday we get the opportunity to hear Foster Peterson preach at both services and afterwards we will celebrate and give thanks for Foster Peterson, parish member and Seminarian for his faithful ministry and servant heart among us. He has been assigned to St. James Episcopal Church, Marietta, GA for his 3rd year contextual education assignment for the next year. Foster has been an incredible gift to ECA as a member and especially as a Seminarian these past years and we will miss him greatly during this part of his formation. All our love and Prayers for Foster and we can't wait till his graduation and Ordination to the diaconate and the priesthood!

What a day! Yesterday, Sunday, we had a special church service, AT THE LAKE! Yes! How about that! I have only heard positive things about the day. We were so fortunate. While it was warm, (we are in Georgia!) it was not super hot. We were at the Navy site on Lake Allatoona! We were in a shaded pavilion with a steady breeze almost all day. We had a great turn out of young and old! As a matter of fact, we had both, our youngest regular attendee and also our most… seasoned regular attendee! With no complaints, but lots of laughs it was a near perfect day! We had a great team of primary volunteers who made this happen, with SO many others helping. I thank you all for being so .. invested.. in making this such a successful day. And during the service what special event occurred? We had 2 baptisms! In the lake!!! A daddy and his daughter! After the baptisms and all of the much deserved congratulations from everyone and mom / wife and grandmother hugs etc, we had a great lunch of grilled hamburgers and hotdogs with sides provided by our congregation. What a day! Live music during and after service. Boat rides. Stories. Laughter. What a great day! Please enjoy a bunch of pictures from a great event, on a great day, with great people with an extra congratulations to Rosie and her dad Austin!
