This morning at 10, St. Anne's Chapter is going on a field trip across the parking lot for a guided tour of the Presbyterian Church, founded 1835. Glenda Hogg has already arrived to prepare the refreshments. St. Anne's Chapter, devoted to worship, study, and service, meets on the first Tuesday of the month during the school year.

Many parishioners told members of the choir how they were moved by the beauty and power of Sunday's anthem "O Love" by contemporary composer Elaine Hagenberg. While Bryan Black accompanied on piano and cellist Sarah Kapps played an obligato, music major Margaret Black conducted. This morning, as the funeral service for Sue McDonald concluded, the bagpiper started "Amazing Grace," turned away and marched to our cemetery gate. Mourners were silent as the hymn swelled and faded; the chatter of insects and birds filled in the silence.
