One of the unforgettable experiences at camp this year was when the young women from the Cherokee and Woodstock Wards explored a cave deep beneath the earth.

At one point, the guide had everyone sit on a ledge and carefully explained where the edge was and how far back they needed to stay to remain safe. Then, all the lights were turned off. In the complete darkness, no one could see the ledge. They couldn't see the danger. The only thing keeping them safe was trusting the counsel they had been given before the lights went out.

What a powerful reminder of how Heavenly Father guides us. We don't always see every danger ahead or understand why we're asked to follow certain commandments and counsel. But when life feels dark or uncertain, the guidance we've received from the Savior, the scriptures, prophets, parents, and leaders can help keep us safely on the path.

Sometimes faith means trusting the light we were given before the darkness came.

Summer is a great time to make memories, learn new things, and make a difference in the lives of others.

For those looking for meaningful ways to serve, JustServe has hundreds of opportunities to help individuals, families, schools, charities, and community organizations. Whether you can give an hour or a whole day, every act of service matters.

As we serve others, we become more like Jesus Christ. We learn compassion, develop Christlike attributes, and discover that some of the greatest joy comes from lifting someone else's burden.

Take a look at the opportunities available on JustServe this summer. You may be surprised how much good you can do with a little time and a willing heart.

Don't forget that any service you provide can also count toward our 250 Hours of Service Challenge! After completing your service, simply scan the QR code and log your hours to help us reach our community goal.

What a memorable day for the Woodstock and Cherokee Ward Youth Camp Leaders!

The YCLs spent the day hiking 10 miles to a beautiful waterfall, where they enjoyed a picnic, swimming, and time together in God's creations. Along the way, they strengthened friendships, built confidence, and prepared to serve and lead the youth at camp.

There is something special about stepping away from the noise of the world and into nature. Moments like these remind us of the Savior's invitation to draw closer to Him, find peace, and recognize His hand in the beauty around us.

We're grateful for these incredible young leaders and the example they set through their faith, service, and dedication.

As we approach the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, we invite you to join us for a special evening celebrating the blessings of freedom.

Come enjoy our Celebration of Freedom Block Party on June 27 from 7:00–10:00 PM. This free community event is a chance to gather with friends, neighbors, and family as we reflect on the sacrifices made to secure the liberties we enjoy today.

As people of faith, we recognize that freedom is both a precious gift and a sacred responsibility. We are grateful for those who came before us and for the opportunity we have to strengthen our families, serve our communities, and worship according to the dictates of our own conscience.

We hope you'll come celebrate with us!

One of the highlights from Young Women Camp this year was the opportunity our Westfield Ward Young Women had to serve others through a project with The Crayon Initiative. The girls spent time peeling crayons, sorting them by color, and packaging them to be sent to the organization. The crayons are then melted down and remade into triangular crayons for children in hospitals.

Why triangular? Because they don't roll off hospital tray tables, making them easier for children to use while recovering. It was a simple project with a meaningful purpose. We love seeing our young women learn that even small acts of service can bring comfort, joy, and a little color to someone's day.

Another special moment recognizing our graduating seniors and their faith, dedication, and commitment over the years. Many youth were presented with a Certificate of Achievement this weekend.

Through early mornings, scripture study, and growing testimonies of Jesus Christ, these youth have built a foundation that will bless them for years to come. We are proud of them and excited for the future ahead. Congratulations graduates!

Today we pause to remember.

We remember those who gave everything in service to our country. We remember families who carried heavy burdens and sacrifices of their own. We remember courage, duty, sacrifice, and love of country.

As flags wave across our communities today, may they remind us not only of freedom, but of gratitude. Gratitude for those who came before us. Gratitude for those who served. Gratitude for the blessings we too often take for granted.

May we honor their memory by striving to serve others, strengthen our communities, and live lives that reflect faith, kindness, and goodness.

Wishing you and your family a meaningful Memorial Day.

This Memorial Day weekend, we remember and honor those who gave their lives in service to our country and the families who carry their memory forward.

Many brothers in the Woodstock Ward sported a red poppy pin today as a symbol of remembrance, sacrifice, and gratitude. The tradition began after World War I, when bright red poppies grew across battlefields where so many had fallen. The flower later became a symbol honoring those who gave their lives in military service and a reminder that their sacrifice will not be forgotten.

As we reflect today, may we also remember the Savior, Jesus Christ, whose sacrifice makes it possible for all of God’s children to overcome death and live again. Through Him, loss is not forever, and hope remains bright.

May we honor those who came before us by living lives of faith, kindness, service, and gratitude.
