Ellis Wright (1799-1880) to Rev. J. C. Groover (1827-1917) | Ellis Wright was Rev. John Chappell "J.C." Groovers Father in Law.

"Know all men by these that I Ellis Wright of the county and state aforementioned hereby make constitute and appoint J. C. Groover of the County of Cobb and state above written my true and lawful attorney for me and in my name and place to take charge and possession of my entire estate consisting of the divers claims of note accounts the plantation on which I live, plantation tools mechanics tools wagons and stock of all kinds house hold and kitchen furniture except such as I may need to furnish a room for myself and wife to sell off such surplus tools, wagons, stock and household and kitchen furniture whether publicly or privately with free power to collect notes account collect rents contract with tenants to repair plantation too and to take charge of my own person and that of my wife and furnish us with house board and medical attention and necessaries of life comfortable to my condition and actual wants and all other things my said attorney may think proper and my said attorney is to keep strict account of all his duties as my attorney and after discharging the expenses of the above duties he is to be allowed free and reasonable compensation for his services granting unto my said attorney full discretion any power and authority to do.

And perform each and every thing necessary and proper to be done in the performance of the above written duties fully as I might do in the premises. Hereby notifying all the lawful acts of my said attorney done under and by virtue hereof during my natural life and that of my wife and the faithful performance of my said attorney as herein set forth.

Articles concerning the Marietta Campground Site state that around 1837 (which would have been shortly after arriving in Cobb County), Rev. Chappell Groover drove to Meriwether County to secure the deed for the Marietta Campground property.
A photocopy of one handwritten source, in possession of Wayne Elliott, says that Chappell had four other children: Martha (Mattie), who married a Crissy; Angeline, who married a Crissy (the same man); Emma, who married a Dunn; and George, who married a Reed.

Their home was in the Post Oak District of Marietta, Cobb County, GA

Burial: Post Oak Cemetery at Mt. Zion Church.
