Why Sponsor a Pilgrim for the Walk to Emmaus?
The Walk to Emmaus is more than a weekend away. It is an opportunity for someone to step away from the busyness of life, encounter Christ in a deeper way, experience the love of Christian community, and be reminded of God’s grace and calling.
But the journey doesn’t begin when the pilgrim arrives at the Walk. It begins with someone saying, “I believe in you, and I want you to experience this.”
That someone can be you. ❤️
Being a sponsor is a meaningful part of the Emmaus experience. As a sponsor, you:
🙏 Pray for your pilgrim before, during, and after their Walk.
💌 Encourage them to take this step of faith and make space for God to work in their life.
🤝 Support them throughout the weekend and help them feel connected to the Emmaus community.
🌱 Walk alongside them as they return home and seek to live out what God has placed on their heart.
✨ Help create an opportunity for transformation. You may never fully know how God will use this weekend in someone’s life — but your invitation, prayers, and support could be the beginning of something life-changing.
❤️ Emmaus Community — Who Will You Invite?
For those of us who have already experienced Emmaus, we know what a gift this community can be. We have received the prayers, encouragement, love, and support of others. Now we have the opportunity to pay that gift forward.
There are people all around us who may be ready for a deeper relationship with Christ, a renewed faith, a fresh start, or simply a reminder that they are loved by God and surrounded by a Christian community that cares about them.
Don't assume someone else will invite them.
Pray about who God may be placing on your heart. Ask Him to show you the person who needs this experience. Then take a step of faith and invite them to consider the Walk to Emmaus.
You don't have to have all the answers. You don't have to know exactly what God will do. You simply have to be willing to say, “Will you come?”
Sponsoring a pilgrim isn't simply filling a spot on a Walk. It is an act of faith, love, and service. You are helping someone experience the love of Christ through a community that is committed to walking with them.
So, Emmaus community, let's step up. 🙏
Who has God placed on your heart? Who needs an invitation? Who might be waiting for someone to believe in them enough to ask?
Pray. Invite. Sponsor. Encourage. Walk alongside them.
You never know what God might do with one simple “yes.” ❤️
