Marietta Campmeeting

Marietta Campmeeting Campmeeting is a non-denominational revival where everyone is invited to join in the glorious celebration of our Lord.

For nearly 200 years, fellow Christians have come together, on this sacred ground, to share their experiences with God. The first gathering was held in 1837 under a brush arbor with pine fires providing light at night. The next year the present oak open-sided tabernacle was built, but it is still called the "arbor" even today. There are now two services daily, with three on Sunday. Twenty-three ca

bins form a half circle around the arbor. The cabins, or "tents" as most people call them, range from small buildings with sawdust floors and no bathrooms, to numerous bedroom, two-bathroom cabins. Marietta Campground cordially invites all people, friends and loved ones, interested in experiencing an "old-fashioned" spiritual renewal in gospel and song to be with us for as many services as possible.

“Merry Christmas from Marietta Campmeeting to you and yours. As we pause during this holy season, we are reminded of the true reason for Christmas, the birth of our Savior. We are deeply thankful for the gift of Christ, a gift we celebrate not only at Christmas, but all year long, and especially during our ten blessed days together in July.”

What. A. Week. These past 10 days under the Arbor felt different this year. The final sundays are always so special to us. We had. Rev. Jim Perry preaching. Our special music was done by our very own Campmeeting trio. It is always such a special time to hear them sing. And we also had the opportunity to honor a faithful usher of 50 Years, Greg Lassiter. Then we all together took a communion together to remember what Jesus did for all of us.

While we are sad because it’s over, it just makes us more excited to know that in 354 days we will be together again under the Arbor! So until we meet again, God be with you!
