We want to welcome you to Eastminster. We are a Christ-centered church on solid, Biblical foundations with a ministry to reach the people of our community with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Coming together to worship God is the most important thing we do. We practice worship in two ways on Sunday mornings. You can come with a cup of coffee at 9 o’clock and be led in praise music with helpful videos
and teaching points OR you can come to the sanctuary at 11:15 and worship in a more traditional form as we lift our voices to God in hymns, celebrate his presence with choir pieces, and move through a pattern of liturgy that stretches back through the ages. Either way every Sunday we are learning to order our lives around the love of God found in Jesus Christ. Eastminster is big enough to have something for every walk of life but small enough that you will know the people around you and they will get to know you quickly. We see ourselves as on a mission for Jesus-- engaging our community with His love and good news and reaching out to places like McDowell County, West Virginia, New Orleans, Mexico, and even Kenya. We are committed to reaching the children and youth in this community with the Gospel; and we do our best to equip families to form a culture of love and grace as they follow Jesus at home. Our governance is Presbyterian, in the tradition of the Reformation. That means you can expect an emphasis on the Bible as the Word of God; the importance of Knowing God for your own salvation; and a lot of education and training in Christian living and leadership. You can also expect to know what’s going on and participate in important decisions through your vote as a member. In our church, you’ll soon find a large group of elders and deacons encouraging you to grow in your faith and learn more about following Jesus as a disciple. We love this Church.
