We are hosting another seminary class through Cranmer Theological House, but this time it will be taught by our very own Fr Tyler. This class introduces students to the central doctrines of the Christian faith by examining the Holy Trinity, Christology, and the Atonement through Scripture, the creeds, the ecumenical councils, and major theological texts. Students will consider why the Church had to speak with precision about the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; why Christ must be confessed as fully divine and fully human; how classical heresies distorted the gospel; and how the Incarnation, cross, sacraments, and salvation are all part of a grand vision of the cosmos. There will also be an emphasis on how these doctrines interact with contemporary debates within philosophy, sociology, and politics. Register for the course (either audit or for credit) and find out more information below.

August 28-30
$250 to audit
$625 for credit

Christ the King welcomes children of all ages to participate in the liturgy every Sunday morning. Bring them hungry, bring them sleepy, bring them curious, for “not only are we committed to forming them into mighty men and women of God, but we devote ourselves to become like them.” If you have children, and want to watch their natural wonder and joy respond to the truth, goodness, and beauty of King Jesus, we hope you will join us Sunday morning as all we generations worship the King!

It has been a joy to have Evensong and Choral Eucharist for the last several weeks. We wanted to pilot a 2nd service during Lent and Eastertide. It has gone so well! Fr. Tony will continue his series on Revelation with chapters 7 and 8. Then, he'll pick it back up in the Fall when we relaunch. If you haven't experienced Evensong yet, you have two more Sundays to come at 5pm!!

"The great danger in this moment is not that we will step out and fail. It is that we will stay in our cave, watching the blue light of the witch's incantation and never live at all." Fr. Tony's Sermon "When Institutions Crumble: A Living Hope" on Easter Sunday. Watch the whole sermon at https://christthekinganglicanchu.subspla.sh/t62vty5

"The body of Jesus was malleable to the nails and to the spear. Its malleability, its shape, kept its wound after the resurrection intact. And yet he was not broken but risen. He was malleable to his afflictions. He embraced his cross. And in that he was glorified. That is resilience." Fr. Tony Melton. "The anvil is the cross. The hammer is the violence, hatred, and tragedy of the world. We are the iron in between. But if the iron is malleable, if it does not harden in resentment, if it does not shatter in despair, if it does not try to become a hammer itself, then slowly, faithfully, under repeated blows, it takes on the shape of the cross, the anvil." Fr. Tony Melton. Listen to the entire sermon at https://christthekinganglicanchu.subspla.sh/xvxbnk5.
