Wow! What a busy, but blessed Sunday!
We started out with our regular worship service at the Marienville Community Methodist Church.
During the service, Pastor Theresa had a blessing for East Forest students, teachers, staff, and bus drivers. She asked us to stand if we were involved with the school in any way.... whether you attended East Forest, had kids in East Forest, were on the staff, or on the school board. It was amazing to see almost everyone in the congregation stood up! Roxanne led us in singing the East Forest Alma Mater.
Then Pastor Theresa had a special blessing for each group that came forward... Secretary, Students, School Nurse, Bus and Van Drivers. It was truly a special service.
Then at 2 pm, we met again at MACA for this year's Community Picnic sponsored by the churches in Marienville. What a Great turnout! There were over 100 people there. Besides the hot dogs, hamburgers and fish, there were so many side dishes and WOW... the desserts... Unbelievable!
I'm sorry I didn't do better with taking pictures, but it was a little hectic while we were getting everything set up.
We hope you'll watch for posters, next August, we'll be having another Community Picnic and it is our hope that it just keeps growing each year!
The fellowship of friends, new friends, and family gives you such a good feeling. We hope you'll join us next time!
