I want to give a quick update on the cemetery—

It has been brought to my attention about the “tall” grass. It has been mowed and we will finish the back half early next week.

I have two yard sales coming up with one being soley for the cemetery to raise money for.

With ALL of the rain ( nearly a foot or just over that) from the past 2-3 weeks it has been impossible to mow. We all know when it rains grass grows quick. What I mean by that is if we got out there to mow we take a huge chance of rutting the ground up leaving holes by getting stuck!! We don’t want to do that and cause someone who walks across it to fall. The front half has been mowed now and most of the back has also. The far back right corner holds water. We have to wait for the ground to harden to mow it. There is a”L” shaped run off back there so in order to not mess it up with it being muddy we have to wait till it dries. Believe me when i say i have walked the whole cemetery more times than i can count, i know where the low spots are, and we are trying to be safe!!

I promise you when I as well as my mom, aunt and uncle took this on we said we would do our very best to improve it. It will take time being that we are doing things soley off of donations and the yard sales I put on each year.

This cemetery has become my biggest project!! Believe it or not I was out there nearly 35 years ago helping to clean it then with my grandparents!!

There was some work that was done yesterday to open the cemetery on the back half up more. Still have a long ways to go, and it will take time as we have to work with the donations that are sent in as well as the monetary donations from our yard sales. Below are 2 before pictures of the front and back sides of the site and 1 after picture looking to the back of the cemetery from the road.

First, I hope everyone is enjoying this weather and seeing that bright sunshine!!

Second, I want to say a Thank You to Shaw Ligon for spraying the weeds at the cemetery!!

Last, my mom, dad, aunt and uncle have started to work on the cemetery today with me to clean it up. We have picked up limbs and started raking pine needles today! We have removed all of the old flowers that were old and falling apart or were sun bleached. I will be coming up with work days soon for anyone who wants to help out. Letters will be going out as soon as all of the medical stuff on my families end cools off.

*** Please remember to make sure you do not leave your trash on the ground at the cemetery! ***

This tree in the pictures was more than half dead and had some large limbs falling out of it the past few weeks. It was taken down safely today!!! More than half of it has been removed, however the trunk is still across the road. It will be removed but it will take some time to do so. Orange marking tape has been placed on both sides and roped off so please be careful. You will not be able to pass thru the curve till it is fully removed.

Thank you to my Uncle Jimmy, Aunt Ruthann and my mom for helping to do this today. It was a lot of work but it is now down safely!!

The fall yard sale for the cemetery went great!! We had a lot of donations from everyone who donated!! Couldn’t have been possible without all of the donations!!

I know I have posted about the upcoming yard sale on November 8&9 for the Aubrey Fire Department but that following weekend November 15&16 I will be doing a second sale for the Spring Creek Cemetery. Don’t worry in between sales I will be taking in and putting out new items for the cemetery sale. So yes there will be new items to see!!! Spread the word there will be a lot to go thru so if you don’t get to look at the first sale there will be a second chance sale with new items added by people that specifically want their donations in for the cemetery sale to raise donations. All money raised for the cemetery will go for it specially.
The money for the fire department will go to it for renovations such as a work out area, small kitchen, updated bathroom, new sheet rock, mini split heat and air units and a new refrigerator!

All monetary donations for each can be made the weekend of the sales if you want to!!!

Take in and set up days will be November 2&6 from 10-4!

There will be a day in between sales for a take in day for the cemetery closer to time! TBA

I will be doing a yard sale for the Aubrey Fire Department November 8 & 9! I am doing this to help them raise money to make renovations on the fire house. Some of the things the money will go to is a new mini split air unit, new fridge, meeting area, work area, updated bathroom as well as sheet rock to use on the walls. The fire house is in need of a much needed update.

I will be taking in anything household wise but only winter clothes like pants, long sleeve shirts, Sunday dress clothes, jackets, sweaters and coats. If you would like to donate closer to October 1 up to the week before the sale please contact me at 870-344-3026!!

All monatery donations are excepted as well no matter how big or small! This renovation is much needed for this small town and fire house!!

Started off cool today then it got hot!!!

Started burning the piles today finally. We worked all day and made some headway again. We want to say a BIG Thank You to Shaw Ligon for coming and useing his tractor to do a lot of work today. He did pretty good on clearing the brush back away from the road, mowed the lot around the big brush pile and did some more work on the back left side of the cemetery. Thank you to my Aunt Ruthann on mowing and working today with us. I wanted to say Thank You to my brother Justin Snyder for letting our mom use his tractor to get a lot done today also. I want to say Thank you to my Uncle Jimmy because he helped me cut down and move a lot of trees to the brush pile with mom’s help. A few trees are down near the big brush pile that will need to be cut and moved over. We do have several more that will slowly start coming down in the next few months!
